Sable is the latest indie game to come to Xbox Game Pass and offers a rich world for players to explore at their leisure. No matter what they decide to do, whether it's seeking out all the masks in the game or just riding through the desert on their jetbike, it's all a valid way to play.

That said, there are dozens of quests to pursue in Sable, and each one offers unique rewards like masks or new jetbike parts. While some of them are pretty easy to find, there are more than a few that only the most discerning players will uncover.

10 The Shade of Eccria

In the town of Eccria, it can be all too easy to get caught up in the more prominent questline, "Heartbreak in the City," which tasks Sable with solving both a power crisis and a robbery. But underneath the entrance bridge is an old man named Maz who offers one of the best quests in the game.

"The Shade of Eccria" involves following hidden symbols through the city to recover the mask of the vigilante known as the Shade. After Maz reveals he used to be the Shade, he asks Sable to use the mask to break his son out of prison. What follows is a hilarious cutscene that sees Sable transform into a horrifying version of Batman. For her help, Sable is allowed to keep the Shade's mask as a reward.

9 Searching For Llhor

An aptly named quest, "Searching for Llhor" can be picked up from the Atomic Priest Shar Varana just above the wind chime shop in Eccria. Shar Varana is looking for a revered storyteller in their order, Llhor, who hasn't been heard from in a while. Sable will have to seek out leads on Llhor's whereabouts and track her to the Sodic Wastes in the Northeast corner of the map.

After finding Llhor, Sable and the storyteller have a deep conversation about the meaning of purpose and motivation. It's a profound conversation that provides a different perspective on Sable's overall themes.

8 Building A Queendom

"Building a Queendom" is one of the most important quests in Sable, and is best found as early as possible. That said, it's also incredibly easy to miss. No quest or objective draws the player to the Chum Lair, which can be found to the southwest of Burnt Oak Station.

It's at the Chum Lair that players can find the Chum Queen, who requests Sable return all her lost children, the Chum Eggs. Returning batches of the Eggs grants permanent boosts to Sable's maximum stamina and turning in 100 Eggs awards her the Chum Mask.

7 An Ancient Race

One of Sable's first quests introduces the concept of driving through ancient rings that activate when passed under. This plays a huge part in the secret quest "An Ancient Race." These rings can be found in just about every region in the game, and when four rings are activated a nearby hidden temple will emerge from under the sand.

Inside these temples, players can find a special relic that needs to be placed in the Mysterious Shrine in the southeast section of the Badlands, near the Hercules Beetle Nest. Once all six relics are placed Sable will gain access to the Hicaric Ring jetbike set.

6 An Eye To The Sky

Sable is a game with a surprising amount of lore and history and no quest showcases it better than "An Eye To The Sky." Players can pick this quest up from Machinist Kaalan at Marrow Bone Station, and it'll lead them to the Watch, a large temple in the far southeast corner of the map.

After solving the puzzle inside, the secret door will open to reveal a large projection of the solar system surrounding Sable's planet of Midden. Sable analyzes each celestial body in the model, offering crucial background information about the world and the galaxy in which it resides.

5 Historical Connection

Sable is largely made up of desert, a desolate wasteland littered with the wrecked remains of once-great starships. Where these ships came from is one of the enduring mysteries of Sable's world, but if players are willing to explore the innards of these shipwrecks they'll find the "Historical Connection" questline offers some answers.

Six different ships across the entirety of Midden hide audio logs that chronicle the landing attempt of one ship and its crew. Finding all six of these recordings unlocks the Whale Ship outfit set and the Whale Ship jetbike parts for Sable to equip.

4 Lightning In A Bottle

At Seven Sisters Station in Hakoa players can find the "Lightning in a Bottle" quest by speaking with Machinist Zahra. Zahra asks Sable to head over to the Crystal Plateau to gather Lightning Crystals to help her fuel an experiment.

After climbing to the top of the Crystal Plateau in the far southwest corner of Hakoa, players can find the Lightning Crystals on the side of the large floating rocks after they've been struck by lightning. Bring three Crystals back to Zahra and she'll offer the Lightning Crystal jetbike parts for sale.

3 Riding The Wave

Sable boasts many secret locations that can be easy to miss, and more than a few of these are home to some of the game's most well-hidden secret quests. One of these, "Riding the Wave," can be found beyond the ship graveyard in the Sodic Wastes in the northeast corner of the game's map.

The quest can be picked up from a Hunter at a camp hidden within a grouping of stone pillars and will require Sable to ride a series of steam geysers to reach the Hunter's partner. The partner, a Climber, will reward Sable with a Climber's badge if she can reach the top of the pillars and retrieve a clutch of rare eggs.

2 Tough Nut To Crack

Sable wouldn't be a great, open-world game without multi-step side quests, and Elisabet the Eccrine Guard delivers one of the most charming the game has to offer. After meeting her at the Bridge of the Betrayed, players can find Elisabet again at Marrow Bone Station in the Wash where she'll offer the "Tough Nut to Crack" quest.

Elisabet wants to know what's inside the Nimoor Plants that only bloom at night in the Petrified Forest, giving off an eerie, bluish glow. Breaking one open reveals the Nimoor Butterflies that live inside, and showing them to Elisabet earns players a Guard's badge for their efforts.

1 Luminescent Adolescent

After meeting with the Eccrine Guard Elisabet twice players can find her one final time over in Hakoa at Seven Sisters Station. She'll have another task for Sable to complete, this time hunting down glowing mushrooms in the classically hidden Glow Worm Cave.

The cave can be found in the southeast corner of Hakoa tucked into the rockface behind a yellowish waterfall. The mushrooms can just be simply plucked out of the ground, and the glowworms can be smoked down from their overhead perches by throwing the nearby rocks into the pools of water.

Sable was released on September 23, 2021, and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
