Deadpool 3 hasn't even started filming yet, but more details for Deadpool 3 continue to surface online. Now, Ryan Reynolds has hinted at fan favorite character Blind Al returning for the highly-anticipated third entry.

Played by Leslie Uggams, Blind Al is an elderly but feisty blind woman and Deadpool's (Reynolds) roommate, who she shares a love/hate relationship with. The character made her first live-action appearance in 2016's Deadpool and returned in 2018's Deadpool 2.

Uggams shared her reaction to Reynolds' recently-released Netflix science fiction adventure film The Adam Project on Twitter. In response, Reynolds wrote, ""Thank you, Leslie. See you soon," followed by three sword emojis. Now for those who do not know, the sword emojis are clearly a nod to Deadpool's blades named Bea and Arthur, a nod to The Golden Girls actor Bea Arthur.

Even with Deadpool 3 expected to take place in the MCU - a cinematic universe that has not expanded to R-rated films so far - it appears that the film will keep the franchises' key elements now with Uggams' return. The character shares several scenes with Reynolds involving plenty of explicit trash talk and witty one-liners. In addition, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has also confirmed the upcoming film will remain rated R, which opens the doors to many possibilities for what can occur in the shared universe.

While any casting news is of course exciting, much of the attention for the film has been on director Shawn Levy being hired to helm Deadpool 3. Levy, who directed Night at the Museum, Real Steel and Stranger Things, most recently collaborated with Reynolds on last year's Free Guy and now The Adam Project, two very successful films that resonated well with fans. Now with the two reuniting once again, they are sure to cook up another exciting story.

While Levy confirmed Deadpool 3 won't begin filming this year, rumors have been brewing that Deadpool could make his MCU debut much earlier in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a film that is said to feature other iconic heroes like Fox's X-Men and Fantastic Four, as well as an Iron Man variant played by Tom Cruise. And even though Reynolds confirmed that he will not be in the film, it's very possible that he is not telling the truth, as star Andrew Garfield lied countless times about his return as the web-slinger in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Whatever the case may be, fans will just have to wait and see how the MCU continues to evolve as more of phase four's content releases.
