Margot Robbie's live-action Barbie movie features one of the most impressive casts ever assembled in recent memory. Now, Warner Bros. has released the first official image of Ryan Gosling as Ken.

Warner Bros. already announced Gosling would be starring as Ken in the live-action film alongside actress Robbie, who will be playing the iconic role of Barbie. The film is also set to star Issa Rae, Will Ferrell, Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu, Michael Cera, and America Ferrera. Great Gerwig is attached as the film's writer and director as well.

With the film set to hit the big screen next summer, fans are hyped to see the Mattel doll's story come to life. The photo released by Warner Bros. gave the first look at Gosling in his role as Ken. The image depicts the 41-year-old star sun-kissed with bleach blonde hair, in a matching two-piece jean set, with white boxers that have "Ken" stitched into them peering over the top of his jeans. The background behind Gosling also seems to show off Barbie's iconic pink dream house brought to life.

This first look at Ken comes after the first look at Robbie as Barbie, which was released back in April by Warner Bros. The snapshot of the actress depicts Robbie laughing in a bright pink convertible, wearing a retro polka dot headband and a striped bathing suit. Fans hoping to hear Aqua's "Barbie Girl" song are out of luck, however, as it seems past disputes over the tune will keep the track from being featured in the film.

As the Barbie film's release date gets closer and more images are unveiled, fan excitement is growing, but when the name Barbie comes into play there is also controversy. When Barbie was announced, many began to worry that the film will stick to the age-old thin, blonde hair, and blue eyes trope that has followed the character since it was created. However, as the Barbie cast list begins to grow, it’s clear that the film will embody a more timely and inclusive tale.

With the film's release coming in hot next summer, the bright pink doors of the Barbie dream house will be open sooner than later for the entire world to see and enjoy.

Barbie is scheduled to release in theaters on July 21, 2023.
