After just a month from the last update, Facepunch Studios has released a trailer for the next major update in Rust. The intense survival game is getting a huge visual upgrade to the entire game atmosphere with new terrain, trees, and decor.

According to the latest development blog, this has been the product of several people's work over the past couple of years. The goal was to greatly improve the feel and visuals of Rust and transition to the High Definition Pipeline of Unity, something that that wasn't able to be worked on during initial development due to time constraints.

Not only that, Facepunch Studios has greatly fixed trouble spots around how monuments work, world procedural generation for seamless transitions between areas, and possible buggy exploits. Rust even has a new magnet crane in the Junkyard monument that can greatly assist the player in a variety of ways.

Unfortunately, since this update does add more content, it might negatively affect the game's performance for some users. Facepunch Studios has addressed these concerns and stated that it tried its best to remain within what gamers were accustomed to. To help combat this for players, infamous problem areas such as The Bandit Town now have reduced forest density, decreased number of NPCs, and completely remodeled huts to further improve the game engine for different systems.

To make one of Rust's least visited monuments in the game more exciting for gamers, Facepunch Studios also gave the junkyard a much-needed makeover. The Junkyard now has a completely different layout and visual look, along with a magnet crane and a shredder. Gamers can explore the map with the magnet crane and look for abandoned vehicles to bring back to the shredder to convert into scrap and other resources. Fans are rewarded either 75/100/125 pieces of scrap depending on the modules the chassis supports. Additionally, gamers will also receive a percentage of the resources from the modules on the recycled vehicle.

And finally, an extra piece of exciting news is that Rust now supports the Nvidia Reflex. This can be turned on in the options menu for all GeForce GTX 900 users or newer, reducing up to 38% of input latency in the game. This effectively increases things such as the visual reaction time from a mouse click, which helps gamers shoot opponents more accurately. Hopefully, fans of the game will come to enjoy all the changes that this update brings and continue to make memories within the game.

Rust is available now on PC. PS4 and Xbox One versions release on May 21.
