Rune Factory 3 Special and the original version of this game have a lot of NPCs around town to meet. Each one of these RF NPCs can be turned into friends or romances if players give the right gifts and complete some side quests.
One of the most confusing of these side quests is for a character named Sofia; she asks players to bring her three birds, but doesn't give them a hint about where to find them or how to catch them. In order to complete this quest for Sofia, players will need to learn to walk.
Sofia's Quest in Rune Factory 3 Special
The bird quest for Sofia can be found on the Bulletin Board in this cozy Switch game. This is request five from this NPC, and she will tell players that she ate her father's meal and needs help making a new one. However, she needs birds first. Players will need to catch three birds around town and bring them back to Sofia before 6PM that day. Completion of this quest will net five hearts in the player's relationship with Sofia as well as three Medium Yogurt and three Medium Cheese.
The birds Sofia is looking for are the little ones that occupy the roads of town. But there isn't a minigame to catch them like there is for fishing in Rune Factory 3. They will fly away when players get close to them, so players will need to walk instead of running in order to catch all three of the birds they need.
How to Walk in Rune Factory 3 Special
In order to have the protagonist walk in the Nintendo Switch version of this farming sim, players will need to hold the R bumper button while moving. If players are on PC, they will need to use Left Shift in order to walk.
Walk toward one of these little guys until a red diamond appears over the bird's head. This means that Rune Factory players are close enough that they can pick it up.
On Switch, press A to pick up the bird. This will hold it above the player's head without them having to hold any buttons. On PC, use the Z button to pick it up. Next, players will just have to carry the bird over to Sofia, since it can't be put in their inventory. Next, head out and find another bird to pick up.
If a screen doesn't have any birds on it, players can just walk away to reload it. Birds should appear every time a screen is reset.
