Fans Think Venom 3 and Spider-Man 4 Could Still Be Connected

Fans are speculating about Venom and Spider-Man connections after the Venom: The Last Dance trailer, suggesting possible franchise crossover theories.

An intriguing rumor connected to the upcoming Venom movie has emerged, suggesting a potential tie to the broader Marvel universe. While fans speculate about the next big villain for both franchises, @MyTimeToShineH reported that Knull, the God of the Symbiotes, will not appear in Venom 3. Instead, Sony plans to reserve this formidable villain for a future crossover, positioning him as the ultimate antagonist for their spinoff universe. Although Sony has not yet laid the groundwork to introduce Knull, there remains potential to set the stage for his appearance in the next movie.

Seeing Knull as the next major antagonist facing Venom on screen is certainly an exciting prospect. However, with no hints of Knull's introduction in the Venom 3 trailer, this seems unlikely. Considering that Venom 3 will conclude Sony's Venom trilogy, there might still be potential to see Knull in other Sony films. Despite the lack of groundwork for Knull's big-screen debut, Venom 3 could still hold a major surprise for fans. The idea of another Sony/Marvel crossover is intriguing. While the previous crossover, No Way Home, was a success, there is no guarantee that the studios will agree on another collaboration. Nonetheless, the prospect of Sony's Spider-Verse characters coming together to confront Knull is an alluring idea. Fans on social media have suggested that if Knull appears in the future, Sony could introduce him similarly to how Marvel introduced Thanos in 2012's The Avengers. Some fans argue that Sony is trying to build their own universe like Marvel but is not using interesting characters effectively and is wasting time. They believe Sony should hand over the rights to Marvel to ensure these characters receive the justice they deserve.

Knull made his debut in 2018's Venom #3, created by writer Donny Cates and artist Ryan Stegman. He is an ancient supervillain, a deity, and the creator of the symbiotes, which explains his deep ties to both Venom and Carnage. With connections to Gorr the God Butcher, he has been hinted at as an enemy of Thor and the Silver Surfer. Knull's origins trace back to the early universe, preceding even the Celestials, existing in the void before creation, only to be disturbed by the advent of light. In response, he forged the All-Black Necrosword, the first symbiote, with which he slew a Celestial. This act led to his exile, during which he bred an army of symbiotes to expand his dominion. Considering himself a God of darkness, Knull harbors an intense aversion to light and life. He wields vast powers, capable of controlling darkness and symbiotes at will, nearly conquering Earth with his symbiote forces. Some argue that Knull ranks among the Marvel universe's most dangerous villains, surpassing even Thanos. Witnessing this power on the big screen, whether in a Sony or Marvel production, would undoubtedly be a captivating experience.

Venom: The Last Dance will premiere on October 25, 2024.
