The Pokemon Company has been rather quiet about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after the first announcement trailer in February, with only one additional trailer showing up on June 1. The second trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet revealed five new Pokemon in total and shed some light on the region for Gen 9 games as well as some of the characters, including a rival called Nemona and two Pokemon Scarlet and Violet version-exclusive Professors called Sada and Turo. However, nothing else was officially shared prior to that or after, but fans remain eager to know more.

As with Pokemon Legends: Arceus, a reliable source for leaks has been Riddler Khu, an insider who provides bits of information on their Twitter account, such as the type combinations of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet starters. Recently, Khu has been sharing information about characters in Gen 9, including Gym Leaders and Elite Four members. Another account dedicated to Pokemon leaks that normally shares them regardless if they are true or false, called PokemonLEAKS, has now shared multiple in-game screenshots of what the various Gym Leaders and an additional rival will allegedly look like.

PokemonLEAKS was apparently sent in-game screenshots of seven Gym Leaders from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as well as cropped shots of unverified new Pokemon. The shots are blurry and low quality, and they show just the face of the Gym Leaders in most cases, which makes it hard to judge whether these images are real or not. Still, going by the appearance of these allegedly leaked characters, the first picture could be that of a Bug-type Gym Leader, the fifth could be a Poison-type wielder, the sixth a Water-type user, and the seventh is allegedly a Ghost-type trainer, according to PokemonLEAKS.

This would fit with the original leaks related to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Gym Leaders made by Khu, who claimed that half of these trainers would use types shared by the Gym Leaders in Kanto and the other half would use types shared by Gym Leaders in Johto. Furthermore, in an earlier leak that dates back to June 16, Khu shared the picture of a woman of color with white hair, a singer. This matches the appearance of the alleged Ghost-type Gym Leader shared by PokemonLEAKS. It's also worth noting that Khu's latest tweet states that someone is covering the shots for them, possibly alluding to PokemonLEAKS' images.

Whether these images are real or not is hard to tell at the moment, but a future Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer could easily debunk them if different Gym Leaders are finally shown. Still, fans should take this information with a pinch of salt at this stage. In the meanwhile, one of Khu's most recent tweets seems to confirm that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have DLC in the future, which could be great for the games' longevity.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release on November 18 for Nintendo Switch.
