Fantastic Four Theory: Loki Finale Can Explain Where The Team Has Been All This Time

The Fantastic Four's absence in the MCU baffles some fans, but a fan theory claims the answer may lie with Loki's impactful finale.

According to scooper @CanWeGetToast, the movie will feature one of the most formidable characters in the franchise -- Franklin Richards. Franklin is one of Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman's two kids. The couple is also parents to their daughter, Valeria. Franklin's appearance in the upcoming movie stirs excitement among fans because he is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe, with the ability to warp reality, alter time, bend the law of physics and even create alternate realities. Considering the age of the actors cast in the film, Pedro Pascal as Mister Reed and Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Franklin is reportedly likely to be featured as a baby or small child in the film.

The insider also claimed that the reboot would begin production in August. That will give everyone enough time to film the anticipated movie, which is expected to be released next year. Also, there might be some teasers about the costumes and plot at this year's San Diego Comic-Con in July. As the production date nears, more information about the project is expected to leak, including concept art.

If the Fantastic Four MCU reboot features Franklin as a baby or small child, that will not be surprising because, unlike other superhuman mutants who wait to reach puberty to unleash their power, Franklin manifests his abilities at a very young age. When he was just a toddler, the Frightful Four, led by Wizard, one of the best villains in the franchise, attacked and beat The Fantastic Four, and he used his power to wake up The Thing, allowing Marvel's first family to be victorious in the battle. Franklin somehow got his superhuman powers from his parents, who both developed surprising abilities after being exposed to cosmic radiation. Reed becomes Mister Fantastic after gaining the ability to stretch and expand his body and limbs and alter his features to disguise himself as a different person. Susan could bend light around her body and become invisible, hence the moniker Invisible Woman. Their mutated genes resulted in an even more powerful being — their son, Franklin Richards.

One of the most defining aspects of Franklin's power is his ability to manipulate reality and time. He has demonstrated the ability to manipulate matter and energy on a cosmic scale, reshape reality to his whim, traverse dimensions, and even create entire universes. Yes, his abilities are not only limited to manipulation. He has psionic powers, too, and can create and destroy a universe, allowing him to generate objects out of thin air or erase them from existence. He can reshape and even break the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe with a mere thought, and he is so powerful that even Superman has no chance of beating a full-powered Franklin Richards. Seeing baby Franklin in The Fantastic Four will be a great treat to fans.

The Fantastic Four will be released on July 25, 2025.
