Rosario Dawson may be known for her acting roles in projects like Clerks II and Daredevil, but the actress made her presence known at AEW's live Dynamite show by jumping the barricade to attack Malakai Black.

Black joined AEW's roster in July following his release from WWE the month prior. There, Black was commonly known under his ring name, Aleister Black.

At last night's Dynamite show, Dawson was identified in the crowd during Black's promo. In it, Black discussed his upcoming rematch with wrestler Cody Rhodes, who Black defeated in his first AEW match. Dawson crossed the barricade to have a staredown with Black, which was quickly cut short by Rhodes' arrival through the crowd. With Rhodes catching Black off guard, Dawson jumped on the back of Black to offer another distraction so that Rhodes could gain the upper hand. The segment ended with Rhodes and Black battling one another through the crowd, much to the fans' excitement.

Since his AEW debut, Black has feuded with Rhodes and the Nightmare Family faction. After Rhodes lost his match against Black, he began unlacing his boots to leave in the ring, a known symbol amongst wrestlers who are retiring from the sport. Rhodes was interrupted by Black, who continued his attack on Rhodes after the match was over. Following Black's triumph over Rhodes, he went on to defeat Brock Anderson, Lee Johnson, and Cody's older brother, Dustin. In Black's match with Dustin, he used one of Cody's boots as a taunt to remind him of what he'd done to his brother a few weeks prior. Prior to this, Rhodes had not been seen on air since his loss to Black and is scheduled to face him in a rematch at next week's AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.

Rhodes, who is the son of wrestling legend "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, is one of several Executive Vice Presidents of AEW. Rhodes shares the title with Matt and Nick Jackson (otherwise known as the Young Bucks), and Kenny Omega, who are all active wrestlers on AEW's roster. Rhodes' wife Brandi serves as the company's Chief Brand Officer. Rhodes and his wife recently had their first child, leading to Rhodes taking a bit of time away from in-ring competition.

Professional wrestling fans are not unaccustomed to celebrities getting involved in storylines. As random as it may seem, Rhodes, who is a self-admitted nerd, was more than happy to have Dawson in his corner. Following their successful attack on Black, Rhodes tweeted that he was thankful to be friends with a Jedi, referencing Dawson's role in The Mandalorian as Ahsoka Tano. Dawson also became a member of the Marvel world through Netflix's shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. Rhodes will make his own debut on the screen, as he and his wife will star in their own reality show Rhodes to the Top, set to premiere on TNT in late September.
