October is a month full of spooky seasonal events throughout the gaming industry, and Rocket League has just kicked off its own annual celebration of all things horror. Rocket League's sixth annual Haunted Hallows event features two limited-time game modes and a wide assortment of cosmetic items from some of the most iconic horror movie franchises.

Rocket League took the esports industry by storm when it launched back in 2015 thanks to its intriguing fast-paced soccer-like gameplay featuring rocket-powered cars competing for control of an oversized ball. With millions of players and a thriving competitive scene, Rocket League has even been aired on the BBC. The game regularly hosts all sorts of events that shake up gameplay and reward new cosmetic items for players to customize their vehicles with, often collaborating with other franchises such as Netflix's Stranger Things or celebrating real-world holiday seasons with festive rewards and limited-time game modes.

Rocket League's Haunted Hallows Halloween event is entering its sixth iteration this year and is bringing in tons of items from some of the most recognizable franchises in horror. Players can complete Haunted Hallows Challenges to earn these rewards, ranging from custom wheels to car toppers and player anthems that play throughout the arena when the player scores a goal, conducts an epic save, or wins VIP honors. Good Guys Wheels inspired by the horror movie Chucky, Jigsaw Blade Wheels and a Billy the Puppet Goal Explosion inspired by Saw, and other items based on John Carpenter's Halloween and Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are some of the available rewards.

The event will also be hosting two of Rocket League's beloved LTMs, Spooky Cube and Heatseeker. Spooky Cube is a variation of the popular Super Cube mode, which features a ball that occasionally transforms into a cube while randomly increasing its speed and bounciness. Spooky Cube functions much the same way, bringing players to a spooky version of the Farmstead Arena with a jack-o-lantern cube. The other limited-time mode is Heatseeker, a challenging mode in which the ball will immediately start flying toward the opponent's goal whenever a player touches it.

Haunted Hallows will run from October 19 to November 1, with the Spooky Cube LTM running from October 19 to 26 and the Heatseeker LTM running from October 26 to November 1. Players can look forward to Rocket League's Frosty Fest shortly after, which usually kicks off in mid-December and continues into early January.

Rocket League is free-to-play on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
