In addition to addictive gameplay and flashy cars, Rocket League has some very interesting arenas for players to compete in. Compact fields set in parks, sprawling arenas in the heart of downtown, and some of the prettiest environments in gaming.

While fans are divided on whether non-standard arenas are even worth playing, there are undoubtedly some popular arenas most fans are happy to play on. Whether it’s an interesting arena, inspiring backgrounds, or a pleasing aesthetic that makes it fun to play a casual match on, here are the best arenas in the game.

10 Dunk House

If you’re a fan of the Hoops style of gameplay then the Dunk House is where you go to play it. In Hoops the traditional soccer-style goals are replaced by suspended hoops like those found in basketball. It’s a quirky twist on gameplay that makes scoring and defense a lot more challenging.

Dunk House looks like a standard basketball court you’d see in the NBA, but suited for cars. The ceilings are low, the colors make it easy to see which side you’re on and it’s a blast if you enjoy Hoops.

9 Throwback Stadium

Throwback Stadium is so named because it’s a recreation of the stadium that appeared in the game Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Power Battle-Cars, an older game by Psyonix that Rocket League was based on.

Many players like it because it supports passing plays rather than solo player scoring tactics, meaning the whole team needs to be involved to succeed in multiplayer. It also appears to be the kind of stadium that would be built specifically for this sport. It was released after an Anniversary event and has been in the game ever since.

8 Champions Field

Released as part of the second-anniversary update, Champions Field is very popular with fans as it caters to the more competitive feel of the game. It’s a large open field with a lot of boosts and necessitates a team working together to score and defend the oncoming team.

This large stadium has spotlights with bright colors at night, a large statue, and an aerial flyover during the day with jets emitting the team colors. This is the place to throw down and have a tournament between top-level teams racing for glory.

7 Farmstead

While the other arenas were built with the sport in mind, the Farmstead arena looks like something thrown together in a field in a rural farm for hobbyists, or it could also be the location of semi-legal matches.

The arena was included as part of a seasonal update for a limited time, though it can still be played online in Rumble matches. The fall colors with a grassy/muddy field, bright rays of the setting sun, and distant colorful trees are a pleasing aesthetic that wonderfully clashes with the roar and crashing of boosted cars.

6 Mannfield

Having a stadium set against the backdrop of a large volcano seems oddly appropriate for a sport about loud and aggressive cars rocketing across the field to block and score against one another. The stadium seems industrial with a focus on functionality rather than aesthetics.

There is debate among fans about which is the best variant, but the Snowy setting has a way of making the lights pop and is a nice touch to the slumbering volcano in the background.

5 Urban Central

Urban Central is another throwback to the old SARPBC game Psyonix made and is a lot of fun. When Rumble matches were first released this Arena was introduced alongside them and is ideally suited for this battle-royale style of play.

This compact arena built inside a large building in a city environment is perfect for deathmatches against rivals. All the variations are well-liked, but the Night setting seems to be the most popular. It’s the kind of place that would draw local office workers looking to blow off steam after a hard day’s work.

4 Beckwith Park

If you’ve ever wanted to watch cars race around each other to score a large sphere into goal boxes in the heart of Central Park in New York City than Beckwith Park is the arena for you. Trees line the arena but fail to block out the gorgeous skyscrapers reaching for the sky and the gargantuan mountain standing opposite of them.

Fans are in agreement that the Midnight variant is best as the cold moon casts an eerie glow on the field, and the distant lights of the skyscrapers make the area come alive. As nature and mankind stand in silent contest on either end of the field Blue and Orange players go head to head in their own less subtle competition.

3 Utopia Coliseum

The Utopia Coliseum was loosely based on a popular map from SARPBC called Utopia. It’s a European-style stadium that has a colorful city on its borders that give everything an almost magical touch.

Fans really enjoy the large open field, and it makes for a great Standard arena. It’s recommended you play a few rounds on this arena by yourself at first so you can take a moment to enjoy the surroundings without worrying about losing the match.

2 DFH Stadium

The DFH Stadium is one of the most popular arenas in the entire game, if not the most popular with fans. It’s easily the choice for fans looking to hold Championship matches. The DFH in the name is actually the initials of the CEO of Psyonix, David F. Hagewood.

It’s an arena set in the middle of a city with skyscrapers sitting next door. Fans have been debating since its release on what real-life location it’s based on, but no one is 100% sure. In any case, it’s an extremely popular map with a great Day and Snowy variant.

1 Neo Tokyo

While DFH Stadium is undeniably gorgeous, Neo Tokyo is unbelievable and arguably the best arena in the game. It was initially released as a non-standard arena called Tokyo Underpass. The layout was badly criticized, but fans were in love with the look and feel of the environment. The developers took the response to heart, changed it to a standard arena, and re-released it as Neo Tokyo.

In addition to a well-balanced map the futuristic Tokyo setting is incredible. The skyscrapers are brimming with bright colors, interesting signs, and fascinating architecture. It’s what Rocket League would look like 50 years from now, and it’s stunning.
