Cleaning up the streets of Old Detroit is no easy task, but luckily, RoboCop has a pretty formidable arsenal of weaponry to help him out this time around. There's a staggering amount of weapons that players can get their hands on in RoboCop: Rogue City that can be looted from dead bodies and found in secret areas. RoboCop will still start off the game with his beloved Auto-9 pistol, which has infinite ammo, but a core part of the gameplay loop is testing out new weapons to see which are most effective at dealing with enemies.

7 Best RoboCop Games, Ranked

The RoboCop franchise has spawned several video game adaptations, with varying degrees of success. Fans should check out these entries.

While every weapon is suited to a specific situation, not all of them are created equal, and there are some that can prove to be useful far more often than others. These are the very best weapons that players can pick up in RoboCop: Rogue City, ranked by overall effectiveness and reliability in a gunfight.

11 Auto-9 Pistol

The Infinite Ammo Of The Auto-9 Is A Huge Bonus, But It Still Has A Handful Of Drawbacks

Firing the AUTO-9 pistol at an enemy in RoboCop: Rogue City
  • Starting Weapon

RoboCop's classic sidearm, the Auto-9 Pistol, is an extremely strong starting weapon that can dish out some quick damage with its 3-round burst, making it extremely versatile and usable for most encounters. The infinite ammo is also a very welcome bonus, but what lets it down is how it doesn't truly shine or excel in any area.

The rapid fire rate can be a lot of fun to try out, but the reload animation is a little lengthy, and it's really designed as a weapon to get the player a few kills before finding something better. There's still no denying, though, how nostalgic it feels to use what is undoubtedly the most recognizable weapon in RoboCop history.

10 Heavy Pistol .50 Cal

The Heavy Pistol .50 Cal Is Incredibly Strong But Only Holds 9 Bullets In A Magazine

Aiming a Heavy Pistol .50 Cal in RoboCop: Rogue City
  • Rare Weapon

While it's definitely a little clunky and unresponsive, the Heavy .50 Cal Pistol is still a ton of fun to use, and it's shockingly accurate when aiming down the sights, but it's very hard to find ammunition for and also only holds 9 bullets in a magazine. With that being said, though, this gun is still the best pistol in the game by a country mile, and while the rate of fire is a little slow, the accuracy does a lot to make up for it.

It's quite a tricky weapon to get a hold of, but if players manage to find one lying around on a corpse, they should really consider using it to clear out the next wave of enemies with only a handful of bullets.

9 Rocket Launcher

The Rocket Launcher Is A Devastating Weapon That's Let Down Slightly By Lackluster AOE Damage

  • Very Rare Weapon

There's no mistaking just how immensely powerful the rocket launcher is in RoboCop Rogue City, and when it comes to clearing out small enemy bases, there's no weapon that can do it better. This does make it a bit of a one-trick pony, though, as it can feel a little awkward using it for regular encounters, but in the right time and place, it can be utterly devastating.

Rocket launchers are one of the go-to choices for boss DPS in Destiny 2. Here's which rocket launchers are worth getting asap.

There is an unusually small blast radius for the rockets, which can take a little bit of getting used to, but as soon as players get to grips with the aiming and splash damage, the Rocket Launcher will become a whole lot more effective and versatile.

8 Assault Rifle KH-21

More Or Less The All Rounder Of The Bunch, The KH-21 Assault Rifle Is As Reliable As They Come

RoboCop shooting an enemy on a bike in RoboCop: Rogue City
  • Common Weapon

This all-rounder assault rifle is at its best when being fired slowly and accurately rather than shooting it off at full blast since the accuracy can become a little unbearable very quickly. Picking off enemies from a distance is therefore the best way to go, especially since the reload is also slightly longer than its counterparts.

It definitely has a few downsides, but players should never pass up on the opportunity to grab this weapon to prepare for some of the more open-ended arenas. Keeping an eye on the total ammunition really is essential when using this weapon, though, since the lackluster reload animation can slow the pace of a gunfight down to a crawl.

7 Assault Rifle RBS MK2

The Scope On The RBS MK2 Assault Rifle Is Either A Blessing Or A Curse

Assault Rifle MKS in RoboCop: Rogue City
  • Rare Weapon

The RBS Assault Rifle is a bit of a double-edged sword because of the scope that's attached to it. On one hand, it does make the gun extremely accurate at mid to long ranges, even though it has a high rate of fire, but trying to actually shoot the weapon at an enemy in close proximity can be an absolute nightmare, especially since the bullets will spread randomly when blind firing.

It can also take a little while to reload the magazine, but these shortcomings are largely overlooked by the sheer amount of damage it can deal. Enemies will go down with only one to two well-placed shots when using this weapon, which makes up for the 30-bullet magazines and the rate of fire.

6 Micro SMG

Mobile, Lightweight, And Extremely Fast-Firing, The Micro SMG Is An Extremely Fun Weapon To Use

  • Common Weapon

The Micro SMG favors a quick, mobile, and fast-paced playstyle where players can race around rooms while firing off the trigger without even having to aim. Despite shooting extremely fast, the Micro SMG somehow manages to maintain a stable accuracy when firing at full speed, but it truly becomes unstoppable when the user is standing still.

Video games has blessed us with plenty of great cops. From Resident Evil's Leon Kennedy to Wei Shen from Sleeping Dogs, here's the 10 best.

It's actually a good thing that the reload is a little on the slower side; otherwise, it would make this gun more or less game-breaking. Being able to aim down the sight in an instant also helps make the gun a lot more portable and lightweight, which is always a bonus, especially for subsequent playthroughs.

5 Heavy Machine Gun

While The Reload Animation Is Quite Long, The Heavy Machine Gun Shines In Every Other Area

Heavy Machine Gun firing at enemies in RoboCop: Rogue City
  • Rare Weapon

The Heavy Machine Gun is the typical heavy-duty weapon of the game, which boasts a high fire rate that makes it capable of taking down an entire horde of enemies without even needing to aim. Despite being a light machine gun, it's surprisingly accurate, but while this makes it great for dealing with regular thugs and soldiers, where it really shines is against boss enemies.

The final boss in the game, for example, is extremely fast on their feet and will take a lot of damage to stagger, so being able to pour a near-endless amount of bullets into them can make the whole encounter far easier. Of course, the reload really isn't great, but that doesn't matter too much since the gun has more than enough ammo to make its way through an entire area with a single magazine.

4 Shotgun

All Three Shotguns Are Immensely Strong And Boast A Surprisingly Long Damage Range To Boot

  • Common Weapons

This includes all three shotguns, as the only major difference between each of them is how they look. It shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that the shotguns are some of the best weapons in an arcade shooter game, but they really do border on being overpowered in Rogue City thanks to how fast and powerful they are.

They also have pretty good range, which allows players to keep them equipped for entire levels due to how versatile they are. These guns can also melt the ED-209 boss' health bar with ease, and they are among the best weapons in the game for clearing out corridors and small office rooms.

3 Cobra Assault Cannon

This Explosive Sniper Rifle Is Capable Of Causing Carnage At Any Range

Cobra Assault Cannon in RoboCop: Rogue City
  • Very Rare Weapon

The Cobra Assault Cannon is essentially a much more accurate variant of the rocket launcher, which is all thanks to the scope, which ensures that every explosive blast will land directly on its target. There really aren't many downsides to the Cobra Assault Cannon since it's so powerful that it's essentially considered to be a sort of "special weapon" that can be hard to obtain during a level but devastating if a player manages to seek it out.

It's also incredibly surprising just how rapid the reload animation is, allowing players to light up a room to their heart's content without having to worry about taking some time out to switch around magazines.

2 Grenade Launcher

Since Its Grenades Explode On Impact, The Grenade Launcher Is Easy To Use And Incredibly Powerful

Grenade Launcher in RoboCop: Rogue City
  • Very Rare Weapon

Not only do the grenades thrown out of the Grenade Launcher explode upon impact, making the weapon very easy to use, but the player will be free to fire a total of 12 shots before they even need to load some more. Considering that this weapon can literally wipe out groups of regular criminals with a single shot, this makes the gun absolutely lethal and so much fun to use.

Because of how precise the grenades are, it's easy to guide them right to the middle of a group to take out everyone who is even remotely close to the epicenter. The Grenade Launcher would undoubtedly be the very best gun in the game if not for one other weapon.

1 Assault Rifle 74

The Staggeringly High Damage Of The Assault Rifle 74 Makes It The Best Gun In The Game

Aiming at enemies with a AK-74 in RoboCop Rogue City
  • Rare Weapon

The classic Assault Rifle 74 might not look too special on the surface, but it really is the most reliable weapon in the entire game, to the point where it can literally make any level far more straightforward than it would be otherwise. The gun has little to no recoil to speak of, which makes it more of a marksman rifle than anything else, but it's also just as powerful in close quarters.

Paired with a lightning-fast reload speed and a steady rate of fire, the Assault Rifle 74 not only feels incredibly fun to use but is more than capable of dealing with anyone who dares walk into its crosshair.
