Roblox will host its first virtual VIP party for The Brit Awards, the United Kingdom’s version of the Grammys. This will include a Roblox post-show party featuring a special performance from the artist PinkPantheress.
The virtual free-to-play party will commence from February 8 to February 13 as Brit Award nominees and honorees will enter the VIP Party world for virtual meet and greets with fans. According to Roblox, highlights from the actual show will air on the “metaverse stage,” tomorrow and on Friday, February 11 at 9 am Pacific Time, the PinkPantheress’ will take the virtual stage.
As we move into the future, more real-life is shifting to meta as it is becoming a trend to hold virtual concerts in gaming spaces, and Roblox is no newbie to this. Not only has Roblox played a part in this trend, but games like Fortnite are notorious for their virtual concert community, hosting shows for artists such as Travis Scott and DJ Marshmallow, and soon Ariana Grande in the fall. PinkPantheress will appear as an avatar during the Roblox concert and perform some of her most popular tracks, including "Just For Me" and "Pain" from her debut mixtape. She comes with great popularity having two UK top 40 singles chart hits and over half a billion streams with her recent debut mixtape.
The creation of the Roblox VIP party came about with development studio Dubit, known to make immersive spaces for kids and esports in the metaverse.​​​​ ​​The concert experience will take place in an immersive virtual world inspired by London and features neon-lit skyscrapers and landmarks like the London Eye and a game inserted statue of the Brit Award. Keeping things immersive for fans of the musical artists and Roblox game, developers created scavenger hunts for players to partake in, collecting hidden Brit Award statuettes and browsing exclusive in-game merchandise. And the best part, the fans can interact with artists and celebrities in virtual meet and greets throughout the awards show.

The Brit Awards 2022 takes place this evening at The O2 arena and will be exclusively broadcast on ITV and ITV Hub and hosted by Mo Gilligan. Although PinkPantheress will perform on Roblox’s massive fan platform, the show itself will bring anticipated performances from famous British artists such as Adele, Ed Sheeran, Holly Humberstone, Liam Gallagher, and Little Simz.
