Robert Pattinson's Batman meets Grant Gustin's The Flash in a DC fan video that imagines a crisis for the Arrowverse's Scarlet Speedster.
Pattinson's Caped Crusader was introduced in director Matt Reeves' The Batman, a standalone project designed to stand apart from other DC projects instead of being part of a shared universe. Consequently, DC heroes from James Gunn's upcoming DCU reboot and the CW's Arrowverse will not interact with Pattinson's Batman, including Gustin's The Flash.
However, Twitter DCVERSO created a video that imagines a scenario where Gustin's Flash can meet Pattinson's Batman. Combining footage from The Batman and The CW's The Flash, the fan-made scene depicts Gustin's The Flash introducing himself to Pattinson's Batman, who's unsure about this newcomer's identity. After informing Batman that he's the fastest man alive, Gustin's Flash admits he's likely on the wrong Earth and needs Batman's help returning home.
Die-hard fans will likely recognize that most of Gustin's footage was taken from the Supergirl episode titled "World's Finest," in which the Scarlet Speedster accidentally travels to the universe of Melissa Benoist's Kara Zor-El. The footage from The Batman is primarily taken from the final scene between Pattinson's Caped Crusader and co-star Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman, with the latter digitally removed and replaced with Gustin. The result is a convincing interaction between two heroes from different corners of the DC franchise.
Of course, an interaction between Pattinson's Batman and Gustin's The Flash seems unlikely. While Gustin expressed willingness to return as The Flash after the series concluded its nine-season run, Reeves consistently said his Batman universe will remain separate from other DC properties. While there's always a chance Warner Bros. could use CGI to bring them together for a brief meeting in another DC project, similar to how Ezra Miller's The Flash movie brought Christopher Reeve's Superman and Helen Slater's Supergirl together using digital effects, this fan-made video might be the closest thing to a real-life interaction between Pattinson's Batman and Gustin's The Flash that fans will receive.
Regardless, the video is a fun reminder of how creative fans can bring nearly any idea to life. While Warner Bros. and DC might have their plans for how to move the DC franchise forward, fans can always dream and possibly make those dreams a reality with videos like this one.
