Rise of the Ronin allows players a glimpse into Feudal Japan during the Bakumatsmu years. The main character is a ronin, which is the name of a masterless samurai who is able to decide for themselves what they will do and stand for.
During this time, Japan was going through a civil war that is now known as the Boshin War, so the game's setting is pretty dark at times. However, even in the darkest of times, people are able to rely on one another. Here are all the bond missions players can complete in order to bond with NPCs around the game.
Rise Of The Ronin: Every Weapon Type, Explained
Every weapon type in Rise of the Ronin serves a purpose, and it's up to players to choose among these and the various combat styles on offer.
Bond Missions In Rise Of The Ronin, Explained
In Rise of the Ronin, players can bond and make friends with (and even romance) certain NPCs around Japan. As a relationship grows, those NPCs may ask the player to help them out with tasks since they are such good friends. When this happens, these missions will be labeled as "bond missions" and will show up in that section of the quest log with all the other missions. After completing these missions, players will grow closer to the NPC that asked them to help.
Rise Of The Ronin: 8 Early Party Members You Should Recruit
AI companions can join the player on missions in Rise of the Ronin, and these early-game recruitable NPCs make for great companions.
All Bond Missions (Friendly Neighborhood Ronin Trophy)
There are 30 different bonds that players can forge within the game, and each bond is special in its own right. Some of the bond missions will unlock after players have completed certain main missions, and others may unlock after meeting an NPC or helping another NPC out. Players can view what bond missions they still have to do for NPCs by visiting the Testament of the Souls and navigating to the bond mission section. If a bond needs to be increased in order to unlock the next bond mission, try speaking to the NPC and giving them gifts. There's a small chance that their story cannot progress due to the player's path. Here's a breakdown of every NPC, all bond missions, and how to unlock those bond missions.
