Ubisoft is unveiling the concluding chapter of Riders Republic's Year 1 content plans, the Freestylin' Season 4 with a brand new BMX Sport Add-on. Riders Republic launched on October 12, 2021, and its post-launch content schedule started on day one. Since then, Ubisoft has released new in-game toys, cosmetics, sponsors, multiplayer modes, live events, and weekly challenges season by season. Now Ubisoft has one last big Year 1 season, and it's the biggest for Riders Republic yet.

Riders Republic's biggest selling point is its mixture of different sports to play, all layered on top of each other in the game's open world. Sports in the game include Wingsuit, Rocket Wingsuit, Ski Racing, and Ski Freestyle. There are two biking sports with both Bike Freestyle and Bike Racing included. However, the introduction of BMX, shorthand for bicycle motocross, will offer a new style of biking experience, including trick-focused playgrounds like half-pipes.

The BMX Sport Add-on for Riders Republic will arrive on September 14, a month ahead of Riders Republic's launch anniversary. Those who purchased the Year 1 Pass for Riders Republic will have 7 days of early access to the new BMX content. Other Riders Republic players will have to wait a week past September 14 for the content to be unlocked. It should be noted that the BMX Sport Add-on has long been teased by Ubisoft as part of the Year 1 content plans for Riders Republic, so players have been anticipating its reveal for some time.

In celebration of the announcement and pending release of the BMX Sport Add-on, Riders Republic is holding a free window of availability. The amount of time Riders Republic will be free heavily depends on where it's being played. The PlayStation window of free availability is from now through September 15. Xbox players will lose access on September 12. Those with Ubisoft+ can play the free version of Riders Republic all the way through October 10.

The upcoming release of the BMX Sport Add-on and the current free-to-play window are what some might consider Ubisoft's last big push for Riders Republic. The lack of more substantial content over the past year, along with a criticized cosmetic and microtransaction system, has led to the game's initial popularity driven by fans of Descenders fading substantially. It may even be true that this is Riders Republic's last content update.

Whether this is Riders Republic's last batch of content or not, those who have been playing and enjoying the game over the past year will certainly be excited to have a good amount of new content available to play. The BMX Sport Add-on will arrive on September 14 for those who purchased the Riders Republic year 1 Pass and a week later for everyone else.

Riders Republic is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
