Ubisoft's MMO Riders Republic has finally arrived, giving adrenaline junkies everywhere a chance to experience the revived extreme sports genre. The game features everything from snowboarding and mountain biking to rocket-assisted wing-suiting and boasts an enormous open world, with promises of 50+ player matches. However, some players have experienced a nasty surprise on the Xbox Series X version of Riders Republic in the form of crash issues.

As one of Ubisoft's newest IPs, Riders Republic set out to capture a distinct and bombastic style, featuring humorous cosmetics, over-the-top stunts, and gag-like skins for vehicles. The result could be considered iconic and helps Riders Republic stand out beside other extreme sports games.

Unfortunately, style may not be enough to make up for the difficulty some players are experiencing when it comes to playing the game. An official post made on Ubisoft's support Twitter account states that the company is aware that Xbox Series X owners are having trouble with Riders Republic crashing. In the post, staff state that they are investigating the problem, and that fans can help by answering questions or providing a video of the issue. This problem doesn't appear to have been occurring during Riders Republic's free trials, which may beg the question of where the crash issue is coming from.

The first question Ubisoft's support team is asking players concerns whether the affected players own physical copies of the game or digital ones. The second question addresses where, exactly, the problems are occuring, presumably because fixing crash issues stemming from the menus would be quite different from fixing crash issues that occur during multiplayer sessions or while roaming in Zen Mode. Several players have already begun responding to the questions over Twitter, where a few recurring issues have already made themselves known.

As of writing, it appears that some gamers trying to play Riders Republic have encountered problems connecting to the server when trying to launch the game or after playing for several hours. Another user reported encountering crashes every 10 minutes and described the game as unplayable, while a second reported the game freezing every time they crossed the finish line in a race.

Several users reported the game freezing, either during start-up, during races, or seemingly at random. The official Riders Republic Twitter account has expressed curiosity in what items some of the affected players were wearing, which may indicate that the crashes are attached to clothing items.

Rider's Republic is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
