A new next gen game is on the way as developer Milestone srl announced that Ride 4 is making its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X at the start of the new year.

The next gen version of the game will run at native 4k with 60 frames per second. The game will take advantage of the PlayStation 5's unique SSD, enabling very little load times and textures to stream in incredibly fast. This makes the game a big competitor to Sony's Gran Turismo 7, which is rumored to launch around the same time.

Milestone srl promises the next gen version will take advantage of the PS5's DualSense wireless controller, enabling the feeling of resistance on the triggers when braking. The haptic feedback allows players to feel the track underneath as tight turns are navigated and players will be able to feel the stress on the motorcycle throughout a race.

Ride 4 will offer 20 bikes when the game launches with revamped career mode that allows players to participate in the American, European and Asian Leagues. The career mode will offer special events and unique challenges that will open up to players as they progress and win races. A new affinity system allows players to align with certain manufactures that will offer unique benefits such as unique bikes, testing grounds, and sponsorship deals. Ride 4's surprise next gen announcement is a welcome one given how close the release date is for the title. The next gen versions of the game look to take full advantage of the hardware upgrades, no word yet on if they game will be supported with Microsoft's Smart Delivery for the next gen copy.

Ride 4 releases on October 8th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on January 21.
