Crunchyroll revealed the schedule of various panels and premieres they'll be presenting at the upcoming Anime Expo taking place in July, including a 90-minute premiere for the third season of the fantasy isekai hit, Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World. In addition, a brand-new trailer and main visual were released, revealing further cast members and series theme songs ahead of the theatrical release on August 30 in Japan.

The third season of Re:Zero is set to broadcast in October, forming part of an immensely stacked Fall 2024 anime season.

Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World got its own stage at the AnimeJapan event held in March, where it was announced that the third season of the anime produced by WHITE FOX (Katanagatari) will broadcast in October, with Aya Yamane (Cathy, Sugar Apple Fairy Tale) joining the cast to play Liliana Masquerade, described as a bard and "songstress" of Pristella who plays a string instrument called a lulile and never fails to captivate with her beautiful singing voice. She forces cooperatoin with Subaru, asking him to tell her about the defeat of the Three Mabeast and the Sin Archbishop of the Witch Cult, with hopes that she will be able to sing of a new heroic tale.

The main cast remains unchanged, with Rie Takahashi as Emilia; Yūsuke Kobayashi as protagonist Subaru Natsuki; Chinatsu Akasaki as Felt and Kana Ueda as Anastasia Hoshin. A number of key staff changes were reported for the upcoming season of Re:Zero, with Masahiro Shinohara (storyboards, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl) taking over as director from Masaharu Watanabe; and Haruka Sagawa (character design, Call of the Night) taking over as chief animation director and character designer from Kyuta Sakai. Series creator Tappei Nagatsuki is supervising, while Masahiro Yokotani is responsible for series composition and Kenichiro Suehiro serves as music composer.

Now with the new trailer, more cast members have been announced for season 3 of Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World-, including Chika Anzai (Chisato Nishikigi, Lycoris Recoil), who'll be playing Sirius Romanée-Conti; Joshua Juukulius voiced by Shoya Ishige (Wakana Gojō, My Dress-Up Darling); Kōtarō Nishiyama (Isaac Fowler, The Ancient Magus' Bride) as Kiritaka Muse and Heinkel Astrea played by Kenjirō Tsuda (Nanami, JUJUTSU KAISEN). In addition to the new cast members, the trailer reveals Konomi Suzuki returning as performer of an opening for the series with "Reweave", while MYTH & ROID return to perform the ending theme, "NOX LUX".

The first two seasons of Re:Zero were directed by Masaharu Watanabe at WHITE FOX, with the first running for 25 episodes from April to September 2016. The second season was split into two parts, the first being released in July 2020 after delays caused by COVID-19, and the second in January 2021. The first episode of the third season of Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- will be a 90-minute theatrical release in August, and then premiere in October, with Crunchyroll streaming it as it airs in Japan.
