Over the years, Nintendo has created an impressive library of games that have stood the test of time. From Super Mario Bros. to the Legend of Zelda, many classic titles from the company are still beloved to this day. Often, many gamers make fan art based on these classic games to display their love for the franchises. While these creations come in all shapes and sizes, they are often amazing to see. Recently, one gamer showed off an impressive piece of artwork based on The Legend of Zelda series.

In a tweet from April 4, a gamer known as Pigminted shared a video of a piece of wood carving art they had made. However, this was no ordinary carving, as the artist had managed to recreate the box art for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Impressively, the artist managed to create both sides of the box. One side featured the game title with Link sailing on the ocean, while the back of the box art showcased the many characters from the game standing on a globe of the world. In addition to carving the piece in impressive detail, they added color to the woodwork.

Unsurprisingly, this incredible piece of Nintendo artwork from Pigminted caught the attention of numerous Zelda fans on social media. In only a couple of days, the tweet from the artist has managed to accumulate over 48.5K likes on Twitter. Among the comments, praise went to the detail seen in the recreated box art. For example, the wood carving had noticeable depth giving the art a 3D feel.

While this piece of artwork might be tough to beat, Pigmented has created many other gaming-related wood carvings that are arguably just as incredible. For example, they recently made a wood carving for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that reimagined what a copy of the game might have looked like as an NES cartridge. In addition, the artist has made wood-carved box art for Super Mario Land, EarthBound, and Metroid Prime, just to name a few. They even carved a wooden replica of an issue of Nintendo Power.

Fortunately, there is a way for gamers to get their hands on these impressive pieces of artwork. Pigmented has made many of these retro gaming wood carvings available for purchase on Etsy. It seems as though the creator shows no signs of showing down either, as they shared one of their most recent creations, the box art for Elden Ring, only a couple of hours ago on Twitter. It will be interesting to see what the talented artist decides to make next. With so many games on the market, one thing is for sure; they have no shortage of choices to pick from.
