One of the biggest acquisitions by Electronic Arts, Respawn Entertainment has already developed a number of iconic gaming franchises, and more are on the way, according to recent statements by EA's CEO Andrew Wilson. Respawn is the studio behind the Titanfall game franchise, so fans can expect some big projects to be revealed in the future.

Since being acquired by EA in 2017, Respawn Entertainment has developed a number of fan-favorite games, including Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Apex Legends. While speaking at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia & Technology Conference 2023, Wilson hinted that more games are currently in development by the Respawn team.

CEO Wilson spoke very highly of the Respawn acquisition, noting that it was perhaps one of the best and most profitable acquisitions in the gaming industry. He noted the incredible value that Respawn has brought to EA and its shareholders, and applauded Respawn's support of the Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi communities. Wilson continued his praises of Respawn, stating that he is incredibly excited with what the studio is working on, though he did not elaborate further on any specific projects.

Some of the Respawn team members themselves have been hinting at new titles over the past few months, and this recent affirmation of these hints by the EA CEO has spurred speculation and renewed anticipation among fans. During an interview earlier this year, Respawn boss Vince Zampella shared that the team was working on something new, specifically mentioning an original IP. It was revealed that the Titanfall and Titanfall 2 video game director Steve Fukuda was leading the team working on this new project, while other team leads were focusing on Star Wars.

The Star Wars Jedi series director Stig Asmussen has said that the team hopes to complete a Jedi trilogy, and recent job postings by EA and Respawn suggest that they may already be working on such a project. At a separate conference earlier this year, EA confirmed its extended relationship with Lucasfilm Games and even mentioned two more games that would be coming for Star Wars fans. Pairing these past announcements with the recent comments by CEO Wilson, it would seem fans can look forward to another entry in the Jedi franchise along with two more Star Wars games.

With the CEO of EA sharing his own enthusiasm for what Respawn Entertainment is working on, it is safe to say that fans will have plenty to look forward to from this studio. Respawn continues to support its top games, such as adding new updates to Apex Legends, while also working on new projects headed by industry veterans. Whether the studio is continuing beloved franchises or starting something new, fans should keep an eye out for future news from Respawn Entertainment.
