When playing Resogun, players will want to unlock all available levels, and this requires quite a bit of work, since levels must be unlocked per difficulty, meaning that achieving the requirements to unlock the next level on experienced won't unlock the recruit or veteran versions of that next level.

Resogun is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up game that uses a voxel art style, and getting to see all the levels will require a lot of work, so this guide will describe the requirements for unlocking each level, and each version of those levels.

How To Unlock New Levels

To unlock a level in this game, players only need to complete all three phases of the previous level. This means earning points and rescuing humans during phases 1 and 2, before taking on one of the game's challenging boss fights during phase 3. After successfully defeating the boss, players will complete the level and the next level will be unlocked.

Things get a little trickier here, as level unlocks are tied to the specific difficulty the level was beaten on. So, for example, completing the first level "Acis" on recruit difficulty will unlock Ceres, but only Ceres on recruit difficulty. If players want to actually reach a stage on a higher difficulty, they'll need to complete the previous stage on that difficulty also.

One way to expedite the process of unlocking levels is to play on arcade mode, which will move players directly from one level to the next on completion, leading from Acis, to Ceres, to Decima, to Febris, and finally to Mefitis. This allows players to swiftly move straight into the next level and unlock the entire set in one sweep. This still only unlocks the levels for the difficulty players have chosen, however, so the process will need to be repeated for each of the difficulty modes.

Finally, players will need to unlock the final difficulty, Master difficulty, before they can truly access every difficulty of every level. To unlock Master difficulty players must first complete every level on Veteran difficulty. This must be done solo, as co-op playthroughs will not count toward unlocking Master difficulty. Once every level has been completed on Veteran difficulty it will be possible to play the first level, Acis, on Master difficulty. From here it's business as usual to unlock the rest of the levels on Master difficulty, so players still have plenty of game to play.

Resogun is available for PS3, PS4, PS5, and Playstation Vita.
