Capcom reconfirms that the Switch release date for Resident Evil Village will be October 28, 2022, with the launch of other Resident Evil titles to follow. Resident Evil Village is the eighth mainline entry in the series, continuing the journey of Ethan Winters following the end of Resident Evil Biohazard as he searches for his daughter Rose. The horror game was one of the main focuses of the recent Resident Evil showcase hosted by Capcom, alongside the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 4.

While Resident Evil Village has been out for over a year on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Series X, and PC, those playing on the Nintendo Switch have felt somewhat left out from the horror experience. Capcom previously confirmed that Resident Evil Village would be coming to the Switch via the Cloud, which allows the hybrid console to run more demanding games. A Plague Tale: Requiem recently released for Switch via Cloud, for example, showing that graphically impressive titles can come to the less powerful machine.

As part of the Resident Evil showcase, Capcom confirmed when the latest title would be coming to Switch. In a short new trailer, it was again confirmed that Resident Evil Village will release on the Switch very soon, on October 28. Three other titles also had their launch dates solidified after Capcom had previously only stated that they were set to release in 2022. Resident Evil 2's Cloud version launches on Switch a few weeks after Village, on November 11, and Resident Evil 3 then joins the roster on November 18.

There's a slightly longer wait for Resident Evil Biohazard, which drops on December 16. It was also confirmed in the trailer that the Winters' Expansion for Resident Evil Village, which contains a new third-person mode, additional characters for Mercenaries mode, and the Shadows of Rose story DLC, will also be coming to the Switch. However, the expansion won't be launching on the Switch at the same time that it releases for other platforms, with Capcom only stating it will come to the Nintendo console "soon."

Alongside giving plenty of news on Resident Evil Village Gold Edition and the Winters' Expansion, Capcom also gave fans a look at another highly anticipated title in its latest showcase. The Resident Evil 4 remake was announced earlier this year, but Capcom recently showed off a lot of new content for the upcoming release. Fans got a look at the collector's edition, PC requirements, and story for the Resident Evil 4 remake.

Resident Evil Village is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and the Switch version releases October 28, 2022.
