Resident Evil Village features a number of items that players may overlook, as they are not directly tied to the main progression of the game. Little side quests that could be easily missed if a player is too focused on the next main objective. In Resident Evil Village, one of these side quests is acquiring the Maestro's Collection, found inside the luthier's house on the west side of the village hub.

The Maestro's Collection features a Steel Hraesvelgr treasure and either a magazine upgrade for the sniper rifle, or 10,000 Lei if the player already purchased the magazine upgrade from The Duke. While this may not be as essential a pickup as Moreau's Hidden Weapon (aka the Magnum), it doesn't take too much time for players to acquire the Maestro's Collection. A little extra Lei in the pocket is always a good thing, and extra bullets for the sniper rifle will certainly help taking out those pesky flying Samca enemies.

Luthier's Key

The first part of this side quest involves picking up the luthier's key, as it is his house that players need to get into. A note tacked onto the door of the luthier's house indicates the key is being held by the Beneviento's gardener.

After completing House Beneviento, players will find that the previously blocked off garden area, found en route to House Beneviento, is now accessible. Through an iron gate players can now access the gardener's house, and inside, next to a typewriter, players will find the Luthier's Key. This item can be reached even if players continue on to Moreau's segment of the game, unlike Beneviento's Treasure, which is time sensitive.

With the Luthier's Key in hand, players can return to the village and make their way to the luthier's house on the west side of town. Or they can stick around and attempt the second of the four labyrinth puzzles found in Resident Evil Village.

One More Piece of the Puzzle

Once inside the luthier's house, players will find a locked cabinet that needs a code to unlock it. Thankfully, that code can be found in the house, and doesn't involve any jump scares. Unlike the code for the workshop combination lock, which can give players an unexpected fright.

The luthier has left a note on his workbench saying that he will never forget his daughter's fifth birthday, and if players search the house, they will find a drawing that seems to depict that day. The hand-drawn piece of art hangs in the kitchen of the home, and has the date 27-09-17 on it which is the code to unlock the cabinet. Players can then claim their loot, and continue on their way.

Resident Evil Village is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
