It's possible to go through the entire game of Resident Evil Village without realizing that Luiza's Key is even a thing. It's not required for progression, it is missable, and its purpose isn't integral to the plot. Still, it's one key that will drive completionists to the breaking point. Without it, they'll have two areas that show as red and there are no clues as to what will turn them blue.
Luiza's Key is a reward for those who love to explore, use moderate ingenuity, and have a great memory. But there is also a lot of luck involved. For players who are uninterested in flipping over every single rock in the game or trying every single key on a single chest, this guide will streamline the process of acquiring and using the key.
Get To The Home On The East Side Of The Village
The location of Luiza's Key is accessible in the first few hours of the game. To the east, find a field with scarecrows that is crawling with zombies. There is a path on the left side that has some more visibility for those who don't need to make their horror experience more horrifying by cutting off their line of sight to the monsters stalking in the grain.
This area will also be populated with zombie birds if visited after taking on Lady Dimitrescu first. They can be killed for Lei or avoided for those looking to conserve their ammo.
Get The Key Out Of The Necklace
Upon arriving at the ruins of the home, look toward the ground to notice a suspiciously intact lockbox on the first concrete step. Open this box and pull out the necklace inside.
Perhaps the most frustrating thing for experts is that they'll get to this step and then begin to search for the key elsewhere in the wreckage. Unfortunately for them, the key is inside of the necklace. They'll finish the game with 99% completion, unaware that what would have got them to 100% was on their person all along.
Unlike other items with secrets on them, the necklace must be inspected twice to receive Luiza's Key. First to pull out the crystal and next to remove the key.
Use Luiza's Key And Get The Treasure
Of course, having a key without a lock is like having a pen without paper. There aren't any fancy neon lights that will tell players where and when to use this key. Head back to the Altar and exit out of the west side, in the direction of Donna Beneviento.
There is a stone door on the left that leads to a treasure box on top of a mantle. Use Luiza's Key here to find Cesare's Goblet. It's not a fancy new weapon, but it sells for a whopping 19,000 Lei, which is the equivalent of upgrading a weapon until it feels new and fancy.
Congratulations on finding one of the game's treasures that even leaves completionists stumped. Enjoy the cash!
