Resident Evil Village has had quite a successful launch. In fact, the newest installment of the long-running Resident Evil series had its biggest launch on Twitch ever. One of the reasons the game has been so popular is that it's managed to blend new aspects with older ones quite well. While the ability to buy items is not a brand new feature, it's gotten a fresh spin in Village.

When visiting Resident Evil Village's version of the merchant  - known as The Duke - players can both buy and sell items in order to juice up their inventory. While that feature allows for players to get some really good items or get rid of some really good items, there are some things users should never sell and some that are going to be worth getting rid of in the game.

The first key to knowing what items to sell is that players obviously aren't going to want to sell anything that's important to them progressing through the story of Resident Evil Village. The good news is that users don't need to worry about selling items they absolutely should not get rid of. The game will not allow those players to sell those items.

There are essentially three different types to things users can pick up. There are standard use items, "key Items" for any story items like keys or puzzle pieces that will actually allow players to move from one story point to another and treasure. It's the treasure that should be sold to The Duke so that you can buy other items in RE Village. These treasure items are further broken down into their own categories.

These items are broken down into sub-categories because while treasure items can be sold, but shouldn't be. In the shop itself, players will see that there are three separate categories for treasure. There is "valuable," "very valuable," or "combinable." Should someone have "combinable" items in their inventory, even though they are sellable, they should be held onto as they can be quite useful as users progress through the story.

The items that are the best to sell are going to be any that are market "valuable," or "very valuable." Getting enough money in the game will allow players who are wanting to go through the Mercenaries mode in Resident Evil Village to have a better shot at succeeding. Having success in the game in general means not selling items that can come in handy at any other part of the story.

Resident Evil Village launches May 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
