Resident Evil Village's rural Eastern Europe setting is relatively small but with many labyrinth paths and obstructions that are not cleared or traversable until an item is collected. Resident Evil Village, not unlike previous entries in the Resident Evil franchise, is composed of fetch quests with many key items to collect and environmental puzzles to solve throughout its narrative.

Resident Evil Village then tasks protagonist Ethan Winters with collecting flasks that contain crystallized, fragmented parts of his daughter, Rose, from four of the game's primary antagonists. Resident Evil Village's antagonists all reside in different locations and biomes that must be encountered in a specific order that follows the narrative thread. Salvatore Moreau is met third, for example, and knowing where to go to reach him can be somewhat tricky at first. Here is how and when players can find Moreau in Resident Evil Village.

Where to Go After Collecting the Four-Winged Unborn Key

Firstly, players cannot get to Moreau or the East Old Town without the Four-Winged Unborn Key. After defeating Donna Beneviento and her doll Angie in House Beneviento, players receive the second Rose flask and the Four-Winged Unborn Key, part of an assorted, assembled key mechanism in Resident Evil Village that is added onto with other pieces while examining and rotating it. Once players collect it, they can return the way they came to House Beneviento with some suspenseful surprises along the way.

Back at the Altar that intersects several locations and bosses such as Donna Beneviento, players can use the Four-Winged Unborn Key on the locked gate to the south. The Altar's checkpoint allows players to replenish ammunition, sell goods, or purchase products at Resident Evil Village's merchant, the Duke, but players can choose to carry on otherwise. Fortunately, Resident Evil Village adequately paves the player's path with a detailed map that players can assess to see which areas are accessible at any given time.

What to Prepare for Along the Path to Moreau

Upon entering through the gate to East Old Town, however, players will be attacked by a Varcolac, or "werewolf." This enemy can be avoided after Ethan escapes into a nearby structure that the Varcolac cannot fit into, though players also have the option to kill it then and there for a sellable Crystal Beast item.

Players will be familiar with this path as it is the same path they entered through the village on, and where the hectic lycan ambush takes place at the beginning of Resident Evil Village. Players will notice the appearance of a breakable, "slimy substance" throughout this area now, and at the end of the path to the right, there is an obstruction caused by the substance that players must break. This leads to more of the substance blocking a ladder that players use to get around a locked gate.

Then, the windmill ahead leads players to the lift-activated entrance to a mine. Pathways in the mine are gated off and inaccessible, which leads the player narrowly down a corridor and up to a window where the third flask can be seen. But as Ethan reaches for the third flask, Moreau appears and whisks it away. Players will have successfully reached Moreau and can continue forward to Moreau's boss battle at the waterlogged reservoir.

Resident Evil Village is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
