Of course, players are getting absolutely rocked during the final boss in Resident Evil Village. Not only is Mother Miranda the final obstacle in this game, but she's also been dogging Ethan for multiple entries into the franchise now. Some who are invested in the lore are suggesting that she's possibly been responsible for other outbreaks in other games, too, making her one of the worst villains since the Umbrella Corporation.
Miranda hits from all angles. She's a bullet sponge. She hits like a truck. Her attacks are rapid. She teleports. There are moments that she is invincible. She casts spells in addition to doing physical damage. And the room doesn't leave space to outmaneuver her by running around or kiting. But don't quit now, those who made it this far are just a few tips worth of advice before finally seeing those credits roll.
3 Gear Up Before The Fight
If possible, stock up with the Duke before the Heisenberg fight. Heisenberg himself is not demanding in terms of resources and ammunition, though he will take a lot of skill to defeat. Therefore, players can mostly be topped off by the time they arrive at mother Miranda.
Prioritize weapons with fast fire rates and quick reload times. Bosses like Heisenberg and Moreau go down with bursts of damage, but Miranda is weaker against rapid-fire armaments.
2 Countering Mother Miranda
Stay back from her as much as possible. She has an overhead melee attack and a spin attack that looks elegant enough, but it will damage anything within melee range. Players who stay back will also notice that Mirana will occasionally spin around with nothing around her. This is a great time to get off a flurry of shots while at this safe range.
Miranda also has an attack where she gets spider-like appendages. She will jump onto a high ledge and then jump down. Go ahead and shoot at her until she leaps down, then run to avoid her landing.
In another phase, she'll give herself wings and fly. Like with the spider phase, she's not a threat during the first part of this, so riddle her with bullets. However, after she floats for a few seconds, smoke clouds will light up around her. Ethan must shoot all of these clouds or receive a devastating blow. She will also twist around and then do a corkscrew attack, which is hard to dodge but can be blocked to reduce nearly all of the damage.
At some point, she will summon a gigantic smoke cloud over her head, which looks like a gigantic version of the cloud from the flying attack. Shoot this cloud as rapidly as possible or else it will explode.
In typical Resident Evil format, she'll shut off all the lights. Ethan must run around the room, find her, and shoot her, or else she'll get off a nasty backstab.
Similar to when she summoned the dark cloud, Miranda will summon a glowing cloud, however, this cloud cannot be destroyed and can only be evaded by hiding behind one of the warped trees.
1 Finishing The Job
Miranda will repeat the previous attacks in a random order until taking enough damage. Then she will cinematically trap Ethan with an unavoidable root attack that holds him in place. The screen will prompt the player to shoot, but do not shoot Mother Miranda. Instead, shoot the cloud she is summoning. It will collapse on her head, making her vulnerable.
Once again, the player will be prompted to shoot, but this time, target Mother Miranda herself. This will end the fight, but no spoilers will be listed here about the ending, it should be witnessed firsthand.
