Resident Evil Village is the latest entry in a series that is popular for more than just horror. While the Resident Evil name promises an intense and terrifying survival experience, fans are equally enamored with the puzzle-solving and exploration aspects of the games. In Resident Evil Village, there are useful items and treasures hidden all over the place, perfect for satisfying completionist players who explore every nook and cranny. Some players might hit a stumbling block when trying to find every item in the Foyer area, though. This short guide will explain how to complete the exploration of this particular room.

In recent entries of the Resident Evil series, all area maps are color-coded to help players see at a glance if a room has been fully explored. Any room colored red on the map still has something for the player to find. Blue rooms have been cleared out, so players can move on with peace of mind. Completionists will often obsess over a red-colored room and refuse to move on until they know that they've uncovered every secret within. That's why the Foyer of House Beneviento in Resident Evil Village can be a frustrating location.

Players will come to House Beneviento as their next major stop after defeating Lady Dimitrescu. The estate is a mysterious place, with no enemies in sight. An eerie silence hangs over the mansion that is inhabited entirely by lifeless dolls. Curious gamers will search high and low for items or some sort of clue as to what's going on with the place. Some may stubbornly decide to avoid taking the elevator in the back hallway until they've colored their map blue for perfect completion. This would be a mistake, as there are no items in the Foyer during the first visit.

The events within House Beneviento will put Ethan Winters through a gauntlet of disturbing trials. Players will have to solve some tricky puzzles, including a particularly difficult one involving a music box. Things come to a head when Ethan returns to the surface and comes face-to-face with his tormentor, Angie. The player will have to overcome a hide-and-seek style boss fight. Afterwards, it will finally be possible to claim the items in the Foyer and color the entire House Beneviento map blue.

There are exactly two items to pick up in the Foyer. The first is Angie, Donna Beneviento's doll. She is a very valuable treasure that should be sold to the Duke for a large amount of Lei. The other item is the Legs Flask. This is obviously a very important key item for Ethan's quest to save his daughter. Both items are in immediate plain sight upon winning the boss encounter. No other treasures, ammo, or crafting materials can be found in the Foyer. So with that, players can safely move on to the next chapter of the story.

Resident Evil Village is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
