Rebecca Chambers is an advisor for the BSAA and a former member of S.T.A.R.S. After the events of Resident Evil, she moved out of the city and continued her university-level education, allowing her to achieve a doctorate in the field of virology - this made it possible for her to assist her friends, and former partners, in their mission to fight bioterrorism.

Rebecca's role throughout the series has been much sparser than players hoped for, although more than enough to make fans fall in love with her sweet, caring yet badass nature. Fans remain eagerly awaiting her return, with her involvement in the earlier games of the series being the only appearances she's made in over a decade. And, so, for the players that miss this beloved fan-favorite character, here's a list of every Resident Evil game Rebecca has popped up in over the years.

6 Resident Evil (1996/2002)

The original Resident Evil is a survival horror game released in 1996, and remade just 6 years after in 2002. The story follows two members of S.T.A.R.S. and their journeys of exploring the mansion and uncovering the horrors that have taken place there. There are two potential storylines players can play through: Jill Valentine's or Chris Redfield's.

Rebecca Chambers is a supporting character within the game if the player chooses to play as Chris. Chris finds Rebecca in his search for the missing Bravo team and the pair work together to both solve the mysteries of the Spencer Mansion and escape it. Whilst Rebecca isn't a main protagonist in this game, the player will briefly get to play as her if either Chris gets poisoned by Yawn during the boss fight, requiring Rebecca to then search for the serum, or if the player chooses not to save Richard which will ultimately make her a playable character later on when making the V-JOLT.

It's worth noting that in 2006, Resident Evil: Deadly Silence was released. This game is essentially an enhanced version of Resident Evil and Rebecca's involvement in its plot is, of course, the same.

5 Resident Evil 2 (1998/2019)

Resident Evil 2 is another classic survival horror game released in 1998 and remade, almost 20 years later, in 2019. The plot follows two characters: Leon Kennedy, a rookie police officer, and Claire Redfield, a college student in search of her brother, both of whom must ultimately aim to escape the horrors of Raccoon City.

Rebecca, unfortunately, doesn't make an appearance in Resident Evil 2, but she does pop up in the form of two Easter eggs. The first can only be found in the Nintendo 64 version of the game and is a file, named 'Rebecca's Report', which can be found in the S.T.A.R.S. office and details the death of the death-row inmate, Billy Coen.

However, fans of the franchise will know that this report was falsely written as Coen not only survived but was able to escape. The second is just an old photo of her, titled 'Rising Rookie', which can be discovered in both the original and remake of the game.

4 Resident Evil 0 (2002)

Resident Evil 0 is a survival horror game that acts as the prequel to Resident Evil, released in 2002. The story follows S.TA.R.S. officer and member of the Bravo team, Rebecca Chambers, and dishonorably discharged Marine officer, Billy Coen, in their journey to both survive the undead and uncover the mystery of the monsters' presence there.

Rebecca, alongside Billy, is the game's main protagonist and one of two playable characters. Unlike Coen, Chambers can both mix chemicals and herbs as well as get into tight spaces. She is, however, much more vulnerable to enemy attacks and unable to push heavy objects.

3 Umbrella Chronicles (2007)

Umbrella Chronicles Rebecca

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is an on-rails shooter game released on the Wii and PlayStation 3 in 2007. The game essentially retells the story of the previous three in its timeline (Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil, and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis), but is instead played from a first-person perspective and, this time, narrated by Wesker. This game aims to provide more detail to the original plot and highlights the events that lead up to Umbrella's inevitable demise.

Again, Umbrella Chronicles simply tells the story of the first three games, making Rebecca one of its main protagonists and playable characters. She appears in two missions: 'Train Derailment' and 'Nightmare'.

2 Resident Evil 5 (2009)

Resident Evil 5 was released in 2009 and is the seventh installment of the franchise. It follows the story of two BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance) agents, Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar, and their investigation into potential bioweapon trading in West Africa.

Rebecca does not appear in Resident Evil 5's main campaign but instead features in its additional mini-games. She is an unlockable character in 'The Mercenaries Reunion', an alternate version of the regular 'Mercenaries' mini-game, and a playable character in 'The Mercenaries United'.

1 The Mercenaries 3D (2011)

Rebecca Chambers Resident Evil Mercenaries

Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is a third-person shooter released exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS in 2011. The game doesn't follow a story and its gameplay is essentially a combination of the previous 'Mercenaries' mini-games featured in Resident Evil 4 and 5. Players must kill as many enemies as possible in a set time limit in order to reach a high score.

Rebecca is a playable character within the game, unlocked when the player completes missions 2-3 with a score of, at least, B rank. Her character has the highest recovery out of its roster but the lowest defense. She's equipped with both a grenade launcher and a submachine gun, as well as a stun gun, making her not only great at defeating bosses but her load out especially powerful.
