Jill Valentine is undeniably one of the major stars of the Resident Evil franchise, appearing in over fifteen entries in the series, including spin-off titles and alternative game modes. As such, Jill has gone through many different iterations in terms of personality and appearance, with each title giving Jill a brand-new look.

As a military woman, she often opts for more practical outfits that are easy to maneuver and don't reveal too much skin, but that doesn't mean her looks are any lesser for it. Here are her best looks from throughout the entire series.

8 Default Outfit - Resident Evil 3 Remake

The Resident Evil 3 remake came with a whole slew of changes, from cutting content to changing Nemesis's AI to be more scripted. Another major change that stands out from the original is Jill's appearance, which differs greatly from all previous iterations.

In the original Resident Evil 3, Jill is seen to be wearing more casual clothes as she is off-duty when the game begins, sporting a mini skirt, knee-high boots, and a tube top. However, the remake outfitted Jill with layered tank tops, jeans, and combat boots to reach the middle ground of fashion and comfort.

7 Cloak And Mask - Resident Evil 5

Jill crouched, her body and most of her face hidden by the cloak and mask she wears.

The mysterious cloaked figure that Chris catches a glimpse of before the grand unmasking is none other than his old STARS partner Jill Valentine, who he assumed was dead. But as it turns out, she is alive and under the mind control of Albert Wesker. Before she is revealed as the catsuit-wearing badass, Jill flaunts a hooded, dark cloak that obscures most of her body, as well as a plague-doctor mask to obscure her face and keep her identity a secret until a dramatically appropriate moment.

While arguments could be made this look was just a means to hide her identity, none could deny it was a bold choice and one that paid off. The look oozes mystique and is all-around awesome.

6 BSAA Outfit - Resident Evil 5: Lost In Nightmares

The DLC of Resident Evil 5 featured Chris and Jill in a story that would set the stage for the main game, featuring her as a member of the BSAA for the first time following her departure from STARS.

As such, Jill is outfitted in BSAA attire that is certainly flattering for her and ensures she is combat-ready with practical footwear, comfortable clothes, and plenty of holsters and storage to carry weapons, first aid sprays, and any other items she will need when dealing with another outbreak of infected. This outfit proved to become a favorite, as it featured in Resident Evil: Revelations during flashback scenes in Jill's scenario, and was available as an optional costume in the Resident Evil remake.

5 Classic Outfit - Resident Evil 3 Remake

Jill in the remixed version of her classical outfit

For the nostalgic fans who wished for Jill's classic outfit to be reprised in the remake of RE3, Jill's famed classic outfit was included free of charge for those who preordered the game ahead of its release and then came available to purchase for those who missed out, so players can reminisce about the golden days of the original while returning to the zombie-ridden streets of Raccoon City.

The outfit features the same blue tube top, a white cardigan around the waist, and knee-high boots. However, where Jill wore an ordinary skirt in the original, this was changed to a "skort," an article of clothing that looks like a skirt but has the modesty and practicality of shorts. While the outfit remained largely the same, many fans critiqued the change, as this deviation meant it wasn't the original outfit as Capcom promised. However, a skort is more practical when facing an apocalypse, and seems like a much more in-character choice for Jill.

4 Black Casual - Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

The creative designers involved in the making of Resident Evil 3 flexed their fashionista muscles with the number of alternative costumes designed for Jill. Excluding the default outfit, there are a total of seven unlockable cosmetics for Jill in the PC version, which were available to choose from the start, which is decidedly generous as most cosmetics usually require completion of the main game to unlock.

One of these cosmetics is the black casual look, which offers an even more laid-back appearance for Jill. Featuring a black halter top, denim skirt, and black boots, Jill looks ready for a day of shopping with her friends at the local mall rather than taking on the juggernaut that is Nemesis.

3 Red Crop Top - Resident Evil 1

By completing either Jill or Chris's campaign with the best possible ending, players will gain the closet key, which will allow them to access the alternative costumes and play through the game again rocking some new, cool threads. The PC and the Saturn versions of the game feature completely different outfits, with a few standing out from the rest.

The PC version of Resident Evil offers a cool new look for Jill, decking her out in denim shorts, a red crop top, black leggings, and a pair of sports shoes. This look would definitely turn heads if there were any living people left in the mansion to appreciate it.

2 Black Crop Top - Resident Evil 1

As mentioned in the previous entry, Jill had different alternate costumes in the different versions of this game, with the PC port offering the red crop top and denim shorts combination, and the original PlayStation version offering another cool, casual look. Like the above entry, players need to play through the campaign as either Chris or Jill and obtain the Good Ending.

Jill opts to wear another crop top, this time in black with low-rise jeans, black fingerless gloves, and a necklace. She even changes up her hair by giving herself some bangs for a cooler look. It maintains the practicality needed to explore a creepy old mansion riddled with creatures while giving her a stylish edge.

1 STARS - Resident Evil 1 Remake

The STARS uniform stands out as one of Jill's most iconic looks, as it originates all the way back from the very first Resident Evil, and has appeared in other titles such as the Resident Evil remake and Resident Evil 3. As her debut on gamers' screens cemented her character as a member of the elite STARS team, it is fitting it was her very first look, and one of her most iconic.

Tactical trousers, combat boots, shoulder pads, and an undeniably stylish beret, Jill looks every bit ready to take on whatever horror will be thrown her way and is decked out in tactically appropriate clothing to ensure full combat maneuverability. Not to mention it makes for a killer cosplay...
