Fans of Resident Evil Village have shared their game-accurate costumes just in time for this year's Halloween celebrations. The Resident Evil franchise has been a popular choice for gamers to take inspiration for their costumes since its inception in 1996. The Resident Evil community has been sharing their creativity on social media this week with a horde of fan-favorite Resident Evil characters making an appearance.

In particular, Resident Evil Village's Lady Dimitrescu, the 9-foot tall vampire lord, was a quick hit with fans and has since garnered an almost cult-level following within the Resident Evil community. In the iconic Castle Dimitrescu section of Resident Evil Village, gamers were also introduced to Lady D's three daughters, Bella, Daniela, and Cassandra, who were initially overshadowed by their mother but have since become just as popular as the Lady of the Castle.

Reddit user KiriTheme posted a stunning set of Dimitrescu sisters costume pictures to the Resident Evil subreddit, wishing everyone a happy Halloween in Dimitrescu Castle. The images feature herself as Daniela, her sister Feeri as Bella, and cumberguy making an appearance as Ethan Winters. The attention to detail on these costumes, as well as the realistic location backgrounds used, has received admiration from the Reddit community, with many praising the effort and artistry on show. The unique aspect of these pictures is the immersion achieved by setting each picture from Ethan's first-person perspective used in Resident Evil Village, with only his hands in view, which calls back to iconic scenes from Ethan's capture by the Dimitrescu sisters in the game.

Resident Evil Village was released as the eighth installment to the mainline franchise in 2021 and was universally praised for its balance between the iconic survival horror elements of the franchise, such as tight inventory management and scavenging, alongside more action-orientated sections and challenging combat. The game's success has also been attributed to its host of memorable and interesting characters.

Fans have been showing off their own costumes on social media, with Leon in his RPD uniform appearing as a firm favorite, as well as a myriad of Wesker interpretations all adorned with his stylish sunglasses. The dedication, expense, and passion that go into these recreations is testament to the enduring nature of the characters and universe that Capcom has created. As the news of the release of the Resident Evil 4 remake was confirmed at Capcom's showcase on October 20, 2022, and with rumors of Resident Evil 9 floating around, fans of the franchise will have more inspiration and material to use with the redesigned and reimagined characters long into the future.

Resident Evil Village is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
