Now that the Resident Evil 3 remake is in the hands of fans, Resident Evil enthusiasts are looking forward to what's next. The next game in the long-running horror franchise from Capcom is rumored to be Resident Evil 8, with frequent Resident Evil series leaker AestheticGamer teasing some more details about the game on Twitter.

In some recent tweets, AestheticGamer teased that they wouldn't be revealing too much about Resident Evil 8 as to avoid spoiling it for fans, but they did say that it is the "most gruesome RE yet." When pressed for more information, AestheticGamer followed up that cryptic tease by saying that Resident Evil 8 will have "some of the most disturbing enemy designs" in the history of the Resident Evil franchise. And when one considers some of the terrifying Resident Evil monsters that have been featured in the games over the years, that's quite the claim.

AestheticGamer also teased some other information about Resident Evil 8, suggesting that the villain may be someone named Alan, and that the game will have a redesigned Chris Redfield as has been previously rumored. Fans should take this information with a grain of salt, as they should any video game leaks, but AestheticGamer has been a reliable source for Resident Evil news in the past.

For those that haven't been following the Resident Evil 8 leaks too closely, the game is supposedly going to be quite the departure from series norms. Reports indicate that Resident Evil 8 will be first-person, similarly to Resident Evil 7, and that it will feature all kinds of enemy types that aren't usually seen in the RE franchise. It remains to be seen how fans will respond to these changes, but AestheticGamer has expressed their confidence in the game.

As for when Resident Evil fans will be able to see RE8 in action, that remains to be seen. AestheticGamer has teased that the game was supposed to be revealed around this time prior to the coronavirus pandemic, so a reveal could potentially come any day now. It's possible that Resident Evil 8 will be revealed as part of the ongoing Summer Game Fest events, though that remains to be seen.

In the meantime, AestheticGamer also claimed that Resident Evil 8 is in development for current- and next-gen consoles, so perhaps a Resident Evil 8 reveal will take place alongside the rumored PS5 reveal in June. Whatever the case may be, fans should definitely keep an eye out for more information in the coming months.

Resident Evil 8 is rumored to be in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
