Earlier today, Resident Evil 7 fans were given their most in-depth look at the game's upcoming DLC expansions yet thanks to a new trailer. Along with this new trailer, Capcom also released a pair of screenshots that tease the fates of both Chris Redfield's team as well as Zoe Baker.

When it comes to Zoe Baker, it appears as though she has suffered a fate not unlike her family members after the events of Resident Evil 7. The trailer shows her wandering throughout the Louisiana swamp, scared for her life. She is then crystallized and collapses, only to be found by a mysterious character known only as "Joe" at the time of this writing. Joe's dialogue insinuates that he is another member of the Baker family, though he doesn't appear to be afflicted with the same infection as the others.

In the screenshot below, fans get an intimate look at Zoe after the crystallization has taken hold of her. This crystallization process impacted the other Baker family members after they died, so it stands to reason that Zoe herself is dead at this point. However, Joe apparently doesn't think so, and it's possible that the End of Zoe expansion will be about finding a way to save her life somehow.

The other Resident Evil 7 DLC expansion coming on December 12th is Not A Hero, starring series mainstay Chris Redfield as he and a squad of agents attempt to hunt down the psychotic Lucas Baker. In the second screenshot released by Capcom, we see what appears to be Chris's dead comrades, though it's possible that they are part of the previous team that was sent in to stop Lucas.

After all, Chris is now a part of the Umbrella Corporation, for reasons still unknown to fans. Capcom has revealed that the BSAA previously sent in a team to try to apprehend Lucas, meaning the dead agents seen in the screenshot below could be part of Chris's Umbrella team or the BSAA soldiers that failed their mission.

And finally, while this last image isn't a screenshot, it appears to be box art for the End of Zoe expansion, giving fans a clear look at the new character Joe. It will be interesting to see if we learn more about Joe in the next couple of months leading up to the DLC's release on December 12th, or if Capcom plans on keeping his role in the story quiet.

December 12th is shaping up to be the biggest day for Resident Evil 7 since the game launched last January to rave reviews and a warm reception from fans. Not only will the date bring with it the game's two biggest story expansions, but it also marks the release of its Gold Edition, which promises to collect the main game and all of the DLC in one convenient package. For those that have yet to experience the twisted tale of Ethan Winters and the Baker family, December 12th marks the perfect occasion to see what all the fuss is about.

Resident Evil 7 is available now for PC, PS4, PlayStation VR, and Xbox One.
