The publisher and developer Capcom releases an official Resident Evil 7 trailer in order to promote the availability of the survival-horror game's Banned Footage DLC.
With Resident Evil 7 having been available worldwide for several days now after it had the 3rd best launch week debut in franchise history, it's safe to say that there are already plenty of survival-horror fans looking forward to all of the game's post-launch content. As it happens, Capcom has already put out the title's initial expansion called Banned Footage Vol. 1 – with PlayStation 4 fans receiving it today ahead of PC and Xbox One players – and the studio has also provided a brief glimpse of the DLC with an original trailer.
As seen below in the trailer from the official Biohazard YouTube channel, there are even more frights afoot in the Baker family mansion, with the game's Banned Footage Vol. 1 DLC tasking players to escape the clutches of the supernatural hillbilly clan in order to survive. However, as was the case with all of Resident Evil 7's promotional materials leading up to the base game's launch, the latest trailer is somewhat cryptic in terms of the specific content found in the expansion, so Capcom has provided an official rundown of the first add-on, detailing two new chapters and an extra mode.

For those interested in picking up Resident Evil 7's Banned Footage Vol. 1 DLC, there are different ways in which it can be done. Fans who wish to only purchase the game's first expansion as a standalone item will have to pay $10, with the next Banned Footage volume costing $15 by itself. Of course, the most cost efficient way to obtain RE7's post-launch content in full will be to buy the Season Pass at $30, which not only packages in Banned Footage Vol. 1 and 2, but also an extra story chapter sometime down the line, intimating the potential of even more to come.
In addition to Resident Evil 7's Banned Footage volumes, Capcom has promised the release of free DLC coming this spring, which could provide an idea as to when the aforementioned extra chapter will drop. Considering the fact that so many fans are now able to speed run through Resident Evil 7 at incredibly rapid clips, it seems as if the bonus content can't come soon enough.
While fans and critics alike consider Resident Evil 7 to be a success as far as the game itself is concerned, Capcom stocks fell after its launch, despite the positive reception and the ability for the title to have moved 2.5 million copies in its first week. With any luck, Resident Evil 7's DLC will not only be able to boost the credibility of Capcom's share value, but also will give fans more frights than they bargained for.
