Resident Evil 4 is one of the most popular video games ever made, with Capcom porting it to nearly every system imaginable. Just recently, Capcom released Resident Evil 4 VR for Oculus Quest 2, successfully translating Leon's adventure to the virtual reality space and earning rave reviews in the process. Rumors persist that a full-blown Resident Evil 4 remake is next up, and now some of the most damning evidence of it has leaked online.

Albert Wesker voice actor D.C. Douglas has allegedly broken his NDA and leaked concept art of how the character will appear in the Resident Evil 4 remake. Twitter account BewareCreepyVAs shared a screenshot of the art online, which supposedly shows Wesker as he will appear in the Resident Evil 4 remake's take on the Separate Ways side content. According to BewareCreepyVAs, Douglas shared the concept art with multiple fans. One screenshot allegedly shows Douglas sharing the Wesker concept art and saying, "Again - DO NOT SHARE - I could get sued." Douglas has since deleted his Twitter account.

It's possible the images have been faked, so fans should keep that in mind. If the images are real, it's more evidence that the Resident Evil 4 remake is in development. The game was leaked quite some time ago, with original plans pegging it for a 2022 release, though the latest leaks claim the game is coming in 2023 instead.

Reputable leakers initially spilled the beans on the Resident Evil 4 remake, but more concrete evidence for it has come to light as well. Besides the D.C. Douglas Wesker leak, the Capcom ransomware attack revealed the existence of the Resident Evil 4 remake. Information from the Capcom ransomware attack has already been corroborated by official announcements, and so it's safe to say that the Resident Evil 4 remake is indeed on the way.

However, it remains to be seen what form the Resident Evil 4 remake will take. It's possible that it will remain faithful to the original, but it's also possible it will take some major liberties to help modernize the experience. The most recent leaks have suggested that there's been some creative differences behind the scenes, pushing the Resident Evil 4 remake release date back, with Capcom changing direction with the game.

It's unlikely that an official Resident Evil 4 remake announcement will come anytime soon, but it's not the only leaked Resident Evil project that's supposedly on the way. Reports indicate that a Resident Evil Switch exclusive may also be in the works, supposedly with Rebecca Chambers in the starring role. There's been a lot less evident backing up that game's existence, though, so fans should keep their expectations in check and as always, treat rumors with a grain of salt.
