A few months ago, Resident Evil 4 remake leaked online, with reputable Resident Evil leakers confirming its existence. Now some more information has come out about the game, giving fans a better idea of what to expect from the upcoming survival-horror project.

This information comes from AestheticGamer, who has accurately leaked Resident Evil franchise news in the past. In recent Twitter posts, AestheticGamer suggests that the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake will be making changes to address issues that modern gamers have when trying to get into the original Resident Evil 4, mainly in regards to its controls. As some may recall, the original Resident Evil 4 uses tank controls, which some gamers have difficulty with. Fans can take this to mean that the Resident Evil 4 remake will be ditching tank controls for a more modern control scheme.

This actually makes a great deal of sense, as anyone that wants the tank controls can simply play the original RE4, which is readily available on modern platforms. In fact, Capcom has re-released the original Resident Evil 4 so many times that it's become a running joke in the industry. And with both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X supporting backward compatibility, fans should be able to play the original Resident Evil 4 on next-generation consoles as well.

Besides getting new controls, it appears as though the Resident Evil 4 remake will potentially expand on the game's story as well. AestheticGamer teased that players may learn more about Dr. Salvador in the Resident Evil 4 remake, which could be pretty interesting as Salvador, also known as the "Chainsaw Man," is easily one of the most recognizable enemies from the entire game.

Of course, a lot could change between now and when the Resident Evil 4 remake launches. The next main series Resident Evil game release is the upcoming Resident Evil 8, set to launch at some point in 2021. The first Resident Evil game built exclusively for next-generation hardware, Resident Evil 8 will once again feature the first-person view as Resident Evil 7, and what has been shown of it so far has been pretty impressive.

So assuming the Resident Evil 4 remake rumors are true, fans can likely expect an official announcement at some point in late 2021.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.
