During Chapter 9 of RE4 remake, Leon must find and acquire three separate statue heads if he hopes to open the way forward. These heads can be found by exploring each area in the Grand Hall, but obtaining them usually requires a little extra effort. Before Leon can acquire the goat head, he would normally need to survive a pretty hectic enemy rush, but there is a way for this sequence to be skipped.

Leon finds the goat head in Resident Evil 4 remake

In order to find the goat head, players will need to head to the second floor of the Grand Hall via the stairs near the chimera statue and proceed through the door leading south. At the end of the hallway, Leon will reach the Gallery and will then need to walk across the walkway overlooking the floor below.

At the end of this walkway awaits the goat head Leon needs to progress the story. While walking toward it, however, a short cutscene will play, in which a Cultist will lower the platform Leon is standing him on, trapping him on the first floor with a swarm of dangerous enemies. Normally, Leon would need to fight his way to the far side of the room in order to raise the platform for him to cross, but thankfully, there's actually a way to prevent the Cultist from lowering it.

While traveling across the platform leading to the goat head statue, Leon will have a chance to prevent the Cultists from lowering him down to the floor below by throwing a Hand Grenade or a Flash Grenade on the balcony just right of where the goat head can be seen. If timed correctly, the Cultist who lowers the platform will get interrupted, allowing Leon to reach the goat head without ever having to visit the first floor.

To ensure Leon can pull this trick off, players should slowly walk across the platform while aiming their throwable at the balcony and only release it when it is aimed directly behind the balcony's railing. This might take a few attempts, but if timed and aimed correctly, the Cultist will not be able to lower the platform.

Once Leon collects the goat head, walking back across the platform will cause a group of three Cultists to attack. Using a Shotgun can be especially useful during this encounter, as the weapon's blast radius can be used to damage all three enemies at once. If players are running low on ammo, they should smash the vases next to where the goat head was to see if they can find more.

Leon aims at a Blue Medallion in Resident Evil 4 remake

Before heading back across the walkway, players can find and destroy the Blue Medallion hanging on the lower level. To get a good shot at this medallion, the player, while facing the walkway, should turn left and examine the floor directly below, where the Blue Medallion can be seen hanging next to the pillar on the first floor. This medallion needs to be destroyed in order to complete the Merchant's Destroy The Blue Medallions 4 request.

So long as Ashley doesn't get captured or incapacitated, Leon can sprint back through the door he came through and return to the chimera statue with the goat head without ever needing to engage the enemies waiting for him on the Gallery's ground floor.
