The remake of Resident Evil 4 revives some of the old collectibles from the original game. (Think Blue Medallions and Hidden Treasures.) But the remake also introduces a mysterious collectible that most beginners never even stumble upon: The Clockwork Castellans. These are automaton toys of Ramon Salazar scattered all over the Village, Castle, and Island. There is one hidden Clockwork Castellan in each chapter, sixteen in total.

RELATED: RE4 Remake: All Blue Medallions at the Castle Gate

Finding and destroying castellans is not part of the main quest line. But, players who do so receive a special prize, the Primal Knife. It’s an indestructible weapon that the Merchant doesn't sell. The only bummer is that the Clockwork Castellans are excruciatingly hard to find. And most RE4 players—beginner or veteran—need a guide to get all.

Updated on November 20, 2023, by Mohsen Baqery: Players can now uncover all 16 Clockwork Castellans, the enigmatic collectibles in RE4, within a single playthrough. To simplify the process, a concise list of all Castellan locations has been included.
