All Weapons in Resident Evil 4 Remake and How to Get Them

The weapon types in the game are aplenty, ranging from the standard handgun to the more powerful Magnum and even rocket launchers. By the end of it all, Leon will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing firearms to blast enemies in the face.

Handguns

All Weapons in Resident Evil 4 Remake Handguns
  • SG-09 R The first weapon players will use in the game, Leon starts the adventure off with this dependable pistol that is great until the end.
  • Punisher Available early on in the game in Chapter 2, the Punisher handgun requires 5 Spinel at the Merchant, and its bullets can penetrate enemies.
  • Red9 Found in a chest in the shipwreck in the middle of the Lake, the Red9 is an accurate handgun that can hit enemies from range with no problem. Upgrading its power further will make this a powerhouse of a weapon.
  • Blacktail In Chapter 7, players can purchase this weapon from the Merchant for 24,000 Pesetas. If the SG-09 R is a preferred choice, the Blacktail is an upgrade on that.
  • Matilda A handgun that fires in bursts, the Matilda can be traded at the Merchant in Chapter 8 for 10 Spinels. Crowd control can be made easier with this weapon.

Shotguns

  • W-870 The first shotgun that can be found in the village, simply head to the house to the left of the tower and grab it from the wall. It can also be bought in Chapter 2 if it was missed.
  • Riot Gun Available in Chapter 6 for 28,000 Pesetas from the Merchant, the Riot Gun is a powerful ally in controlling crowds, and packs a punch up close.
  • Striker Spend 38,000 Pesetas at the Merchant in Chapter 10 to obtain the Striker, an equally powerful shotgun that has a wider spread to catch more enemies in its wake.
  • Skull Shaker Only available if players buy special editions of the game or purchase it as a separate DLC. A good alternative to the starting shotgun.

Rifles

  • SR M1903 The rifle becomes available in Chapter 2 for 12,000 at the Merchant. The bolt-action nature means players have to make every shot count.
  • Stingray Buy it from the Merchant for 30,000 Pesetas in Chapter 7, the semi-automatic design for the Stingray means it can deal high damage at a fast speed.
  • CQBR Assault Rifle Found in the Castle during Chapter 11, players have to go back to where the Bunch of Keys item was in the Library and use the Cubic Device to unlock the box. Otherwise, this great all-rounder rifle can be bought from the Merchant in Chapter 11 for 28,000 Pesetas.

  • TMP A basic SMG that does the job reasonably well, get it from the Merchant for 10,000 Pesetas in Chapter 3.
  • LE 5 Available in Chapter 13 after solving the puzzle to get access into the Freezer, the LE 5 is arguably the best SMG that should always be in any setup.

Magnums

All Weapons in Resident Evil 4 Remake Magnums
  • Broken Butterfly Get it from the Merchant in Chapter 7 for 29,400 Pesetas with a discount, the powerful Magnum is a good leveler in the early parts of the game.
  • Killer7 An upgrade on the Broken Butterfly, the Killer7 is available in Chapter 13 for 77,000 Pesetas, or at a discount in Chapter 15.
  • Handcannon This particular Magnum is a reward for those that can complete Professional Mode without using any of the Bonus Weapons and can have unlimited ammo after being fully upgraded.

Knives

  • Combat Knife The starting knife that players will have to get very familiar with, this will help Leon with his parries both up close and with ranged attacks.
  • Fighting Knife Defeat Major Krauser in Chapter 14, and this upgraded knife will become an indispensable tool.
  • Primal Knife The reward for destroying all 16 Clockwork Castellans in the game, fully upgrading it will render it indestructible.

Others

All Weapons in Resident Evil 4 Remake Bolt Thrower
  • Bolt Thrower A great stealth weapon that can be further enhanced with attachable mines, the Bolt Thrower is available at the Merchant for 10,000 Pesetas in Chapter 2.
  • Rocket Launcher Get it for 80,000 Pesetas in Chapter 4, the Rocket Launcher definitely deals huge damage in a large area, but it takes up lots of space and ammo is often scarce.
  • Infinite Rocket Launcher The solution to the ammo issue, completing the game once will unlock this weapon for purchase, but it will set players back a massive 2,000,000 Pesetas. It will be worth it, of course, to melt any resistance in the way with just one rocket.
