Resident Evil 4 Remake introduces brand-new side quests for Leon to complete on his journey. These Merchant Requests can be found throughout every level. All the requests send players on scavenger hunts through certain areas of the game to destroy blue medallions or exterminate rats. Completing the requests rewards players with Spinels, which are a separate currency Leon can use to trade for valuable items at shops. Some items can only be purchased with spinels, so it's worth it to complete these requests. Follow this guide to complete the Even More Pest Control request and exterminate the rats in the Waste Disposal area.
The file for this request can be found at the Merchant Shop during Chapter 14 of Resident Evil 4 Remake once players have completed the Waste Disposal area, Facility 2, and the Cargo Depot. Players should restock on ammo after dealing with the last sections and the powerful Regeneradors. Once players have picked up the request, they need to crouch back under the debris and return to the Waste Disposal to find the four rats.
Rat #1
The first rat is located all the way back at the beginning of the area. It will be running in a pattern that cuts through the entrance and then back into the hall.
Rat #2
The second rat is on the other side of the collapsible bridge. Order Ashley to turn the crank and walk across it. The rat runs in a pattern around the pile of trash, and shouldn't be too hard to grab.
Rat #3
Head up and around to the left of the area to find the third rat. It will be scurrying around by the fence where players can see Ashley holding the crank on the other side. Look carefully for this little pest, as this area is dark enough that Leon will automatically use his flashlight.
Rat #4
The fourth rat will be nearby, running in circles close to the Power Control lever. Players can use the lever if they want some more light in the area, but remember to flip it back to open the exit when finished. The final rat for this quest will run all the way up to the wall where the lever is then back around to the right. If this rat isn't there, then players may have killed it while searching for Rat #3, as their paths slightly overlap.
With all the rats exterminated, players can head back across the collapsible bridge. Call Ashley away from the crank and squeeze out of the Waste Disposal area through the exit. Turn in the request to the merchant to receive 3 Spinels.
