There is at least one unsolved mystery in the Resident Evil 4 remake "Chainsaw Demo" that players have yet to figure out. Capcom shadow-dropped the Resident Evil 4 remake "Chainsaw Demo" a few days ago, and one would think fans have picked it apart for all it's worth by now; even the modders have gotten the Resident Evil 4 remake demo working in VR already.

Fans of the series seem to be enjoying the demo - for those who have not tried it out yet, it is free to play, infinitely replayable, and without any time restrictions. One player found a method to obtain a hidden weapon in the Resident Evil 4 demo by dropping all their gear at the village area gate and legging it to a secluded underground area. It will be interesting to see if this also works in the game proper. Thankfully there isn't much longer to wait until the game releases on March 24.

There is a locked drawer in the village area of the Resident Evil 4 demo that nobody has been able to open. It could simply be that the key required to open it is found later on in the game beyond the end of the "Chainsaw Demo," but there is a small yet exciting possibility that the key is hidden somewhere just waiting to be discovered by a persistent gamer. Another possibility is that it will be opened via a lockpicking mechanic a-la Resident Evil Village, but that's just speculation at this time.

The Resident Evil 4 "Chainsaw Demo" was a nice surprise, and it seems the hype train for the game is full steam ahead. The game certainly looks like it is going to live up to the lofty expectations of fans at this point - a hard task, in light of the fact that the original Resident Evil 4 is considered by many fans and critics to be the greatest game in the series. For a series that boasts dozens of games including spinoffs and remakes, this is quite the achievement.

Unfortunately it's not all sunshine and roses since physical copies of Resident Evil 4 have been spotted in the wild. Those who wish to avoid spoilers be warned that there are unscrupulous gamers who would shamelessly ruin the game for others by sharing game footage and critical plot information. It's not like games haven't leaked early before, but it's always unfortunate and frustrating for players who want to experience the Resident Evil 4 remake in all its glory on their own terms.

Resident Evil 4 will release on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on March 24.
