There are several accessories players can unlock and wear in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Some of these accessories can be more than just cosmetic items too. They can also provide passive buffs and bonuses that can help players get through the game with more ease. These are effects players will surely appreciate having, especially given the game's challenging nature.

A lot of these accessories aren't easy to acquire. However, they're well worth the effort that they take to get. From effects such as making Leon's knife attacks stronger and or giving his weapons infinite ammo, these accessories can make players unbelievably overpowered. Even the strongest enemies in Resident Evil 4 Remake won't stand a chance against Leon with these equipped.

5 Gas Mask

Gas Mask from Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The Gas Mask is useful for players who want to tackle Hardcore and Professional modes, but also want the help of Aim Assist. Normally, Aim Assist can't be turned on when the game is set to either of the two aforementioned difficulties. The Gas Mask allows players to turn on theAim Assist feature regardless of the game's difficulty.

To obtain the Gas Mask, however, the player must first complete a playthrough on Professional difficulty. That means those who are used to having Aim Assist on will have to go through the game's hardest difficulty once without it. The good thing is there is no ranking requirement. The player can take as much time as they need as they finish Professional difficulty.

4 Wolf Tail

Wolf Tail from Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The Wolf Tail increases Leon Kennedy's melee attack damage when an opponent is staggered. This refers to the kicks and slams he does on enemies, which are already fairly powerful attacks. With this accessory, those can be made even deadlier, to the point that they might even kill an enemy outright. This is perfect for players who always go for this kind of attack. A bullet in the leg and followed up with this, and the player can kill enemies without wasting too much ammo.

To obtain the Wolf Tail accessory, the player must complete the game on Assisted difficulty with an S+ ranking. This means they must beat the game on Assisted in under 4 hours. They also can't do it in New Game Plus, since the S+ ranking can only be earned when playing on a new save. 4 hours may sound like it's not enough time, but Assisted is also the game's easiest difficulty. Those who have mastered the game's mechanics can manage this quite easily.

3 Deer Antlers

Deer Antlers from Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The Deer Antlers accessory increases the damage done by Leon's knife attacks. Aside from the handgun, the knife is probably one of the weapons the player will have to use the most. The knife is a highly reliable weapon too. It's deadly enough to kill most of the enemies in the game, especially once it is fully leveled up. Pair the Deer Antlers with the Primal Knife, which is completely unbreakable, and Leon can essentially knife his way through most of the game.

This way, the player can truly save up their ammo for the game's tougher enemies and bosses. If they're up for the challenge, they can even still use the knife to defeat some of the bosses in the game. If that's something a player wants, they can obtain the Deer Antlers by completing the game on Standard difficulty with an S+ rank. To earn this rank on this difficulty, they'll have to beat the game in under 5 hours.

2 Chicken Hat

Chicken Hat from Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Seeing Leon wear a Chicken Hat as he fights his way through Resident Evil 4 Remake is undeniably silly. However, this silly-looking accessory has a useful effect despite its hilarious visuals. When worn, Leon's defense rises immensely. The player will be able to take attacks and essentially tank them, making them more formidable.

It's hilarious that such a funny-looking accessory can make Leon noticeably tougher. Besides, wearing this will definitely make the game's creepiest places less scary. If this is a bonus the player wants, they can earn the Chicken Hat by completing the game on Hardcore difficulty with an S+ ranking, which requires them to beat the game in under 5 hours and 30 minutes.

1 Cat Ears

The Cat Ears from Resident Evil 4.

Even though the Cat Ears makes Leon look like a furry, it is far and away the best accessory in Resident Evil 4 Remake. This accessory gives most of Leon's weapons infinite ammo. The only weapons that aren't affected by this accessory are the Bolt Thrower and the Rocket Launcher. If the player wants an infinite Rocket Launcher, they'll have to buy a separate weapon for that.

However, this definitely includes some of the most powerful weapons in the game, like magnums, shotguns, and assault rifle. Even the hardest difficulty becomes a walk in the park with this accessory. To earn this, though, the player will need to complete the most difficult challenge in the game. They'll need to complete the game on Professional difficulty with an S+ ranking, which requires them to beat the game on a new save in under 5 hours and 30 minutes.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is available on PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
