Playing it safe, the Resident Evil 4 remake introduces only one new rifle, the CQBR. And it chooses to limit players’ options to three long-barreled firearms in total. They must either go with a sniper rifle, the SR M1903, a semi-automatic rifle, the Stingray, or an automatic rifle, the CQBR. Use this guide to figure out what’s the best way to obtain them and which one is worth the effort.

List of All Rifles

The remake of Resident Evil 4 has three rifles: SR M1903, Stingray, and CQBR. Of these, only one (the SR M1903) is a sniper rifle; the other two are assault rifles.

SR M1903

Resident Evil 4 Remake SR M1903 Rifle-2

As the only sniper rifle in the RE4 remake, the SR M1903 becomes available in Chapter 2 at the first Merchant site. It costs 12,000 Pesetas and comes with a free Scope as a limited-time offer.

What makes SR M1903 unique is its incredibly high power. A fully upgraded version of this weapon has a whopping power of 10.60, the highest among all the rifles in the game.

Stingray

The Stingray from Resident Evil 4.

The Stingray is a semi-automatic rifle that becomes available in Chapter 7. The only way to obtain this weapon is by purchasing it from the Merchant for 30,000 Pesetas, which is a fair price.

The Stingray’s unique quality is its high penetration and 3x power against weak points. An Exclusive Upgrade for the Stingray doubles its rate of fire, turning it into one of the fastest rifles in the game.

CQBR

The CQBR Assault Rifle from Resident Evil 4.

With an impressive fire rate of 2.50, the CQBR is the most rapid rifle in the RE4 remake. Like the Stingray, it has 3 times more power against weak spots and comes with an above-average penetration rate.

But what makes the Stingray the best rifle is that it’s available for free. After solving a puzzle, the player can find the CQBR in the Library of Chapter 9.

All Rifle Scopes

The Biosensor Scope in Resident Evil 4 Remake

The Resident Evil 4 remake has three sights that are compatible with all rifles: the Scope, High-Power Scope, and Biosensor Scope.

Scope

The Scope is a regular 2x sight available in Chapter 2 for free. To get it, the player must buy the SR M1093 from the Merchant for 12,000 Pesetas. The Merchant will give Leon the scope as a free gift with purchase.

High-Power Scope

As a 3x sight, the High-Power Scope has the highest magnification power among all scopes. The only way to get this sight is by paying the Merchant 7 Spinels in Chapter 4.

Biosensor Scope

Also known as thermal vision, the Biosensor Scope is an infrared device. It reveals all heat-emitting objects, making it easier for the player to spot weak points. To get the Biosensor Scope, the player will need to solve the Freezer puzzle in Chapter 13.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
