Pretty much as soon as a game is released, fans will find ways to make things easier, and the remake of Resident Evil 4 is no exception as someone has discovered a way to make light work of the Chainsaw Sisters. At more than two and a half decades old, Capcom's flagship survival horror series continues to be a rousing success, with plenty of mainline Resident Evil entries, spinoffs, and remakes to keep fans entertained for a long time.
Over the years, players have learned that the games don't always have to be played the way the developer intended. For example, the original Resident Evil 4 has plenty of tricks that can be pulled off, some of which even veteran fans might not be aware of. Whether it's finding exploits for more goodies or dispatching foes in ingenious ways, Capcom probably didn't bet on a few dedicated players making some unusual discoveries in its games.
As spotted by The Gamer, a recent example of this comes from the YouTube channel Bear Gaming Asia, whose video shows a playthrough of the Resident Evil 4 remake's fight against the Chainsaw Sisters. Ordinarily a rather intense battle, Bear Gaming Asia makes the two foes seems like nothing with a little exploit that involves loading the Bolt Thrower with explosive mines. Just before the cut scene that begins the fight, the player aims their weapon at the low-hanging light bulb above, firing a number of mines into it. Right after they trigger the cutscene that causes the sisters to emerge from the wall, both enemies are immediately met with a large explosion, killing them and effectively ending the fight in under a second.
Although not the hardest bosses in the Resident Evil 4 remake, the Chainsaw Sisters are notable for their aggression, not to mention the fact that it's not a huge area that the fight takes place in. Add that to having to protect Ashley, although she can be told to hide in a locker, new players will likely find this encounter pretty intense. So the exploding mines trick will help fans get through it quickly, unless Capcom decides to patch it out at some point.
The remake hasn't been out for too long, yet there are already a number of ways to skip parts in Resident Evil 4, including entire boss battles. It may go against the spirit of the game, but it will prove useful for those who are finding things rather difficult, to say nothing of the speedrunning community.
