Recently, some Resident Evil 4 fans have been producing fan art of a cartoon mouse version of Ashley Graham, effectively dubbing her "Moushly," and now Capcom has decided it wants a piece of the meme action. For many, the remake of RE4 was easily one of the most anticipated horror games of 2023, and the feedback since the game came out shows that the hype was worth it. Of course, as serious as the survival franchise is, fans are more than happy to have fun with it.Over the years, there have been plenty of memes dedicated to the Resident Evil games, proving that no matter how terrifying a series is, there's always some way to derive humor from it. That's just how the fan community is. The remake of RE4 is just another example of people deviating from the horror, and now the developer itself has been getting involved.RELATED: Someone Has Put Thomas the Tank Engine Into Resident Evil 4, and It’s HorrifyingAs reported by PC Gamer, not only have Resident Evil 4 fans been producing their own Moushly artwork, but Capcom itself has also shown it's onboard with some mouse-based Ashley content of its own. Admittedly, it's just a tweet with a cheese and mouse emoticon, but it shows that the studio has been more than aware of what fans have been up to. The original of this meme comes from Twitter user Agrimmora, who imagined a version of the RE4 remake in which the defenseless daughter of the President is an adorable cartoon rodent. Since the developer has now posted about it, some may suspect that Moushly has become canon to the series, at least as an in-joke.

It's not uncommon for the community to create fan art inspired by Resident Evil. Anyone who's played Village will remember the meme-like quality of Lady Dimitrescu, whose stature and busty physique made her the subject of a lot of drawings, cosplays, and crossover art. In the case of Moushly, it's nice to see Capcom acknowledge that players will take the RE name and do some pretty creative things with it.

The future is looking pretty bright for Resident Evil, especially with how well the recent remake has been doing. There are already hopes for a reimagining of RE5 and talks of a ninth installment possibly in development. It's hard to know how long this success will continue for the iconic survival horror franchise, but Capcom will not want to stop anytime soon, not when things are going so well.

Resident Evil 4 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
