With the release of the Resident Evil 3 remake just a little over a month away, the anticipation of what changes and improvements will be made to the beloved Resident Evil classic have fans incredibly excited. However, newly released footage shows that the hulking atrocity known as Nemesis has a few new tricks up his sleeve.

Resident Evil is an uncontested staple of the survival horror genre. When this landmark title made its debut in March of 1996, it blew audiences away with its violent imagery and unsettling atmosphere. Ever since the release of the first game, this series has possessed a tremendous amount of longevity that spawned six additional main installments, several spin-off games, an entire movie franchise, and even a Resident Evil Netflix series set to release at some point in the future.

Ever since the remake of Resident Evil 2 released last year with updated graphics and gameplay, fans of the series are incredibly excited to see other installments re-released in the same format, which includes the remake of Resident Evil 3. A lot of new additions have already been made to the remake, but some newly unveiled gameplay footage shows a new and improved Nemesis doing a lot of things that he couldn't do in the original game.

Nemesis can now sprint towards the player at breakneck speeds and can sporadically leap in front of the player at any time. To contrast the slow, lumbering yet menacing pace of Mr. X in the Resident Evil 2 remake, Nemesis is much more reactive, which will likely make for many terrifying encounters. Along with Nemesis' disturbing origin, this game will mark the triumphant return of one of the most iconic monsters in Resident Evil.

As Capcom begins to unveil more and more details regarding the remake of Resident Evil 3, the game is starting to look incredibly impressive, with the redesign and use of Nemesis being the most noteworthy aspects currently revealed. Though, Nemesis has always been shrouded in mystery, so hopefully this remake will answer some of the questions that longtime fans of the series have had since the original release of Resident Evil 3.

That being said, there are some fans of the series that have shown some concern in light of this new remake. With the release of Resident Evil 7 and the remake of Resident Evil 2, the popularity of the franchise has certainly been revitalized in a wholly new way. However, the question remains, will the remake of Resident Evil 3 continue the franchise's recent popularity streak?

Resident Evil 3 is set to release on April 3rd, 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
