Resident Evil 3 Remake Producer Peter Fabiano revealed how the development team designed Nemesis. Videos of the game have shown how incredibly scary Nemesis is, but Fabiano says that the team doesn't just want fans to feel terrified when they play.

Speaking to GamingBolt, Fabiano said that it was important for art director Yonghee Cho to make Nemesis "feel like he fit in the reimagined and photorealistic Raccoon City and felt like a prototype model." It has been confirmed that Raccoon City is much larger in the Resident Evil 3 remake and it also looks much better but for a popular enemy like Nemesis, that new look could have been difficult to create.

For the Nemesis gameplay, Fabiano said that the enemy was designed to "give players the feeling that they were constantly being pursued by a relentless bioweapon." Fabiano also called Nemesis "very agile in his movements." A video of the Resident Evil 3 remake revealed how fast Nemesis can move in the game. The character can now run towards players, making it much more difficult for them to get away.

However, the Resident Evil 3 remake team doesn't just want the player to feel scared by Nemesis. Fabiano said, "Game pacing is important and we worked on striking a balance between having players feel anxious and also giving them periods of respite." The developer also revealed that "Nemesis is a formidable foe but not something that is completely insurmountable for someone as skilled as Jill."

Nemesis is one of several terrifying enemies in the new game, such as the Hunter Betas and an enemy that seems to be the Hunter Y. Each of these will have different attack styles and different reasons for the player character to be scared of them. However, with pacing, it should allow taking down these enemies to feel entertaining, and not like Capcom is trying to scare for no reason.

The game has two new attacks for players to use, giving them more ways to take down these enemies. Fabiano has confirmed that the Resident Evil 3 remake has the Quick Step and the Perfect Dodge, which will be good for those times when players aren't able to just run. If these attacks work on Nemesis, this could be one of the Jill Valentine skills that will be important to take the enemy down.

Resident Evil 3 is set to release on April 3rd, 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
