The fast-paced RPG Remnant 2 features interesting concepts for players to customize their characters. While there are many powerful relics, amulets, and rings the nameless survivor can wear, the game has gone one step further and introduced Relic Fragments.

Relic fragments are somewhat similar to relics – consumable items that grant the player unique buffs and bonuses. These fragments are stone pieces that can be equipped to further boost a player’s stats. Relic fragments are quite valuable for players to customize their playstyle and improve the character’s performance. They can be used to create a wide variety of builds, each with its own strengths and weaknesses.

How to Find Relic Fragments

remnant 2 medic archetype

Similar to other crafting items in Remnant 2, Relic Fragments do not have a fixed spawn location. The game’s procedurally generated system randomizes the locations and numbers of Relic fragments throughout the vast in-game worlds.

Players have the best shot at getting Relic Fragments by purchasing them from a merchant named Dwell. Dwell is one of the merchants in Ward 13 who specializes in trading and upgrading Relic Fragments. For 15 pieces of Relic Dust, players can purchase any type of Relic fragment (red, blue, yellow) from Dwell.

The relic fragment players receive is randomized, and there is no way of knowing which one they get from the three categories.

Moreover, players can find Relic Fragments by killing off Elite enemies and world Bosses and by opening random chests as well. While it’s not guaranteed, there’s still a good chance for players to receive relic fragments as enemy drops or find them inside hidden chests.

How to Use Relic Fragments

Each Relic in Remnant 2 has three distinct Relic Fragment slots. Equipping a Relic fragment into one of these slots provides additional unique effects for the Relic. This cool feature opens up a world of endless customization possibilities. Players can flexibly choose Relic fragments and slot them into their equipped Relic at any time. This allows them to adapt their playstyle or gameplay strategy depending on the situation.

To successfully use Relic Fragments, players can follow the steps below.

  • Open the in-game Character Menu
  • Navigate to the Relic slot (on the lower left side of the screen)
  • Click on the Relic to Inspect it
  • On the screen that opens up, select any of the three Relic Fragment slots on the left
  • Select a new fragment from the list that pops up

Players should keep in mind that one specific fragment can only be equipped once. Besides that, there is no restriction on choosing a specific color per slot, giving players the freedom to customize according to their desired build.

How to Upgrade Relic Fragments

There are six Relic Fragment tiers, namely:

  • Cracked
  • Ordinary
  • Solid
  • Polished
  • Flawless
  • Mythic

To upgrade a Relic Fragment to a higher tier, all players need to do is find another fragment of the same type. Once they get two of the same type, the fragments will automatically merge and upgrade to a higher rank. Upgrading a Relic Fragment increases the benefits it provides, making its effects stronger and more powerful.

As a player’s total archetype level increases , they’ll come across more powerful Relic Fragments of the same type.

All Types of Relic Fragments

Relic Fragments are usually divided based on their rarity or attributes. There are several Relic Fragments, all of which are color-coded based on the effects they provide. Players can find the following types of relic fragments in Remnant 2:

Red

Relic fragments that have a red symbol signify damage and offense-based buffs. These fragments focus on increasing attack speed, critical damage, and overall enhancing any weapons used by the player. Gamers who are merely focused on improving their DPS can slot in these relic fragments to boost their gameplay.

Blue

Relic fragments that have a blue symbol affect the player’s armor and boost defensive stats. These fragments focus on enhancing the nameless traveler’s stamina, health, resistance, and recovery. Players who want to improve a flawed armor set can use these relic fragments to effectively boost their defense.

Yellow

Relic fragments that have a yellow symbol focus on support buffs and passive abilities, such as enhancing ammo reserves, increasing casting speed, and decreasing weapon recoil. These abilities play a significant role in how quickly and accurately players can defeat enemies and bosses in Remnant 2.
