Remnant 2 developer Gunfire Games is working on a fix for a pressing issue that players on PlayStation 5 are currently experiencing. For some odd reason, Remnant 2 launched without certain functionality allowing PS5 players to invite friends to their game from their Friends list. This functionality is included in the PC and Xbox Series X/S versions of Remnant 2, so its omission from the PS5 version is odd. Nevertheless, Gunfire Games should have the problem fixed in the near future.

It's been just two days since Remnant 2 launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, but the third-person shooter is already proving to be a great success. The release of the original Remnant was itself a success, selling over a million copies in its launch window and at least three million in the years since. Early sales of Remnant 2 on Steam are impressive and player counts are showing twice the activity of its predecessor. It's also spiking in viewership on streaming platforms like Twitch.

A major criticism of both Remnant, and now Remnant 2 as well, has been an overall lack of technical polish. Gunfire Games has been active on social media since Remnant 2's launch communicating about some notable issues the game is dealing with. One of those issues is the inability of PS5 users to invite players to their game through their in-game Friends list. The good news is that Gunfire Games is already working on a fix.

In a message shared on Twitter, Gunfire Games says that has identified the PS5 friend invite issue and that a fix for it should be issued "very soon." Note, however, that this update was provided on launch day and a fix doesn't appear to have been issued yet. Gunfire also notes that there is still a list that is shown to PS5 users, but it's not interactive. That's what will be fixed.

The Friends list bug wasn't the only issue that PS5 users had to deal with when Remnant 2 launched. There were also problems tied to performance when using Remnant 2's menus. A hotfix has since been issued for this, as well as other bugs. Gunfire Games remains transparent and communicative about updates as it's able.

The only reason that Gunfire is able to respond to these initial launch issues so quickly is because Remnant 2 had an early access window. As such, Gunfire was able to collect feedback and address what it could prior to launch. The PS5 Friends list bug, however, was bigger than could be fixed in that short window. Expect further updates from Gunfire as work on the fix progresses.

Remnant 2 is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
